Ukraine is a sovereign state. Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are respected by most of the free world but were violated by Russia in 2014.
The IMF (International Monetary Fund) does not aim to rule or control Ukraine. The IMF is focused on strengthening the governance of the National Bank; improvements to the legislative and regulatory framework for bank supervision and resolution; policies to reduce the medium-term fiscal deficit; legislation restoring and strengthening the anti-corruption framework and the judiciary; and energy policy. Implementing these reforms will allow Ukraine to achieve economic stability and the development of democratic institutions.
