The UN General Assembly resolution regarding the militarisation of the Crimean peninsula is proof of an ongoing campaign against Russia, aimed at finding anti-Russian traces. // The resolution was adopted under the pressure from the West, it is a continuation of the anti-Russian policy and it is not about the Crimea. If the Crimea did not exist, the West would have come up with something else, directed against Russia. // By adopting the resolution, a group of the UN member states, mostly from NATO and the EU, encourages Ukrainians to commit new crimes and provocations in the name of Western political ambitions.
No evidence given. Recurring narrative on the West campaigning against Russia. The General Assembly adopted on 17 December 2018 a resolution urging the Russian Federation to withdraw its military forces from Crimea and end its temporary occupation of Ukraine’s territory without delay. 66 countries (including most EU and NATO members, who, however, do not represent the majority of the countries for the resolution) voted in favour to 19 against. The Assembly expressed concern about the use of force by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, including seizing three Ukrainian vessels on 25 November.
