DISINFO: The ICC is a politicised tool for the criminal prosecution of figures disliked by the West

It is obvious that the ICC has nothing to do with justice in the authentic sense of the word. This is a politicised pro-Western structure that carries out orders for the criminal prosecution of figures disliked by the West. This court issued arrest warrants for representatives of senior Russian leadership some time ago.
Of course, these orders are absolutely legally void. Against the background of the absolutely politicised hostile position of the ICC towards Russia and its leadership, our ally Armenia decided to ratify the statute of this court. How should we perceive such a step? Only as, to put it mildly, unfriendly.

The statement was made in the context of Armenia ratifying the Rome Statute.
The court's jurisdiction is clearly established. The accusations about the ICC or the OTP being puppets in the hands of the collective West is a conspiracy theory.
The draft law of ratification and recognition of jurisdiction of the Rome Statute was approved by the Government of Armenia on December 29, 2022, months before the ICC arrest warrant for the President of the Russian Federation.
The ratification of the document is not aimed at any other country. This will provide a certain guarantee that any serious crime on the territory of the Republic of Armenia will fall under the jurisdiction of the ICC, and for those who intend to commit such a crime, this will have at least a deterrent effect.
On 17 March 2023, the ICC issued arrest warrants for two Russian individuals in the context of the war in Ukraine: Vladimir Putin and Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova. As a result of the ICC's decision, 123 member states are obliged to detain and transfer Putin if he sets foot on their territory, significantly limiting his ability to travel abroad.
