Disinfo: 18 US states have asked to annul election results triggering civil war

Texas, along with 17 other states, have demanded the annulment of election results in the disputed states, and in response to this a counter-coalition is formed. It was so unexpected that this gigantic step will cause the transitioning from a cold civil war towards a civil war so quickly.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation about imminent civil war in the US in the context of US presidential elections.

While there are concerns about a potential civil unrest following the presidential election on November 3, 2020, there is no basis to claim that civil war is imminent in the US.

Additionaly, the 18 states mentioned in the article did not demand the annulement of election results. Instead, it was the Texas Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton who filed a lawsuit in the US Supreme Court to invalidate presidential election results in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Wisconsin and Michigan, and was supported in this endeavour by attorney generals from 17 states, not by the states themselves. The Supreme Court was quick to dismiss this case.

Kiev attacked the independent republics of Donetsk and Luhansk

Ukraine is the aggressor in the Donbass region.

It was the Kiev authorities who attacked Donetsk and Luhansk, it was by no means an attack from these two Republics.

Recurring disinformation message about eastern Ukraine: that the aggression came from Kiev and local dwellers resisted alone without Russian military support and founded the DPR and LPR.

The involvement of Russian personnel and equipment in the creation of the DPR and LPR has been well documented already for years. The destabilisation of Eastern Ukraine and the illegal annexation of Crimea has been condemned by the Council of the European Union and led to restrictive measures since 2014.

The Kyiv authorities want to forbid people in Eastern Ukraine to speak Russian

Peace must be restored there, people from Eastern Ukraine refuse to live with supporters of Bandera who support Fascism and Nazism. (…) These people speak Russian and want to continue speaking Russian. Ukraine wants to deprive them the right to speak Russian.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation message about the status of Russian language and Nazism in Ukraine.

Ukraine did not propagate the neo-Nazi ideology. The Nazi and Communist ideologies were banned by a Ukrainian law in 2015.

Crimea was never part of Ukraine

Crimea is Russia.

In the Middle Ages, the Ottoman Empire wanted to take possession of this territory. They had special relations with the Crimea. Then Crimea becomes part of the Russian Empire. And in the Crimean War, the French fought the Russians and not the Ukrainians and it was Stalin who organised the Yalta conference in Crimea with Roosevelt and Churchill. Not the first party secretary of Ukraine.

So in fact, Crimea was never part of Ukraine.

This is the view of the inhabitants who voted more than 90% and twice. In 1991 and very recently for the attachment to Russia. It is their sovereign right and they have exercised it.

The question of Crimea is closed. It is one of the entities of the Russian Federation. There are even two. Crimea and Sevastopol. These are two entities of the Russian Federation.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the annexation of Crimea.

The transfer of Crimea and Sevastopol to Ukraine was first officially agreed on 25 January 1954 at a meeting of the Presidium of the CPSU Central Committee. The members of the Presidium, voting for the transfer of Crimea to Ukraine, took into account objective reasons: “the commonality of the economy, territorial proximity and close economic and cultural ties between the Crimean region and the Ukrainian SSR.”
