Disinfo: 73 people died as a result of experiments in Lugar lab

Summary

The US has more than a hundred of them - in 25 countries of the world. By some strange coincidence, most of them are concentrated along the borders of Russia and China. There are 16 American biological laboratories in Ukraine alone.

Have any dangerous incidents happened there? Yes, as many as necessary.

In a Georgian bio laboratory, American scientists tested a new highly toxic drug developed by Gilead on humans. As a result of the experiments, 73 people died.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about US biolaboratories around the world, part of a years-long disinformation campaign led by the Kremlin.

The article does not present any evidence about the 73 deaths, as a result of experiments in the Lugar lab. The claims about a Hepatitis C treatment programme allegedly causing deaths have already been debunked but pro-Kremlin media persist in circulating them. Georgian officials have stated that the claim disseminated by pro-Kremlin media is "a stupid rumour" and that no experiments on humans are performed at the Lugar Lab. For more details read here.

In fact, biological laboratories are involved in preventing the risks of complex diseases and, together with other similar projects, counteracting bioterrorism.

The Lugar Lab is a frequent target of Russian disinformation. The Richard Lugar Center for Public Health Research is a facility of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC), which became operational in August 2013. It is a top-tiered institution in NCDC’s laboratory network and serves as a reference laboratory for Georgia’s public health system. Read more about Lugar Lab on Myth Detector.

Disinfo: Russia is on a well-known course of supporting the UN

Russia is expected to continue on its well-known course of reaffirming the activation of the role of the United Nations and its various institutions (and decisions) ... Nonetheless, the implementation mechanisms and the means of procrastinating and circumventing the UN decisions, which happens often under the eyes and ears of the international community, and suspicious silence from the West, turn the role of the UN and its decisions as an "advisory" or "optional" role that applies to some, but not to others.

Disproof

A pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Russia being respectful of international law, and trying to deflect responsibility by pointing fingers at the US.

Russia has a long record of violating other states' sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Disinfo: COVID-19 shows signs of being a biological weapon

Interestingly, from the first days of the appearance of this virus (COVID 19), there were suspicions that it was invented in a laboratory. Because although the natural version of the virus exists, it has long been known that it does not pose such a serious threat to human life. The virus, which has taken the world hostage for the past 1.5 years, showed more signs of a biological weapon... In any case, the close involvement of not only Chinese scientists, but also American scientists in making the world a hostage to the virus raises certain suspicions.

Disproof

Disinformation about coronavirus and biological weapons.

There is no evidence that SARS-CoV-2 virus causing COVID-19 has been deliberately created as a biological weapon. In a report published in April 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) stated, that:

Disinfo: Trump was denied his right to speak

What we saw regarding former US President Donald Trump, by denying his natural right to speak to the media, or via social media, confirms that the United States of America behaves in a more violent and extreme manner when it comes to its internal security and stability of its political system.

Disproof

This message is consistent with the broad pro-Kremlin narrative that seeks to discredit democratic societies by painting the latter as totalitarian systems that want to persecute anyone who expresses views that are different from the dominant way of thinking.

In fact, the decision by internet companies against former American President Donald Trump is a response to disinformation and crimes that might be contained within the speech itself. A good example is incitement and this is what happened when Trump actually "ordered" his supporters to march to the Capitol on January 6th.
