Disinfo: Secret Czech project aims to end net neutrality in Europe

Summary

There is a secret project underway in the Czech Republic whose aim is to end net neutrality. Czech citizens will gradually be denied access to certain independent and/or alternative websites, thus ushering in an era of censorship.

Disproof

No evidence given, conspiracy theory about the secret plan. Net neutrality has been approved by the EU in April 2016. eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=uriserv:OJ.L_.2015.310.01.0001.01.ENG&toc=OJ:L:2015:310:TOC,

The anti-Babiš demonstrations were financed by George Soros

The demonstrations against Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš held on 5 June 2018 were organised by an association supported by George Soros’ Open Society Fund.

Disproof

Recurring theme blaming George Soros for everything euvsdisinfo.eu/disinformation-cases/?text=Soros&disinfo_issue=&date=,

The event was organised by a civic association Milion chvilek pro demokracii (A Million Moments for Democracy), which is financed by various contributors through a transparent bank account. See debunk here (in Czech): manipulatori.cz/hoax-demonstraci-proti-babisovi-platila-osf-george-sorose/, .

Film maker Oleg Sentsov is a Russian citizen

Since imprisoned film maker Oleg Sentsov is a citizen of Russia, the FSIN (Russian correctional service) authorities could not allow access to the Ukrainian Human Rights Ombudswoman Ludmila Denisova because she is a foreign citizen.

Disproof

Sentsov was born in Crimea, which was invaded by Russian soldiers in 2014 and annexed by Russia following a vote the United Nations called invalid.

Sentsov remains a citizen of Ukraine. Russian authorities are well aware of this and have repeatedly admitted this. For example, the indictment document for Sentsov from 2015 lists him as a citizen of Ukraine, with information from his Ukrainian passport and no references to a Russian passport.

The Czech government will import migrants under the guise of workers

The Czech government intends to import migrants into the Czech Republic under the guise of providing workers for local industries by preparing to adopt a new Alien Act. In line with the recommendations of the Marrakesh Political Declaration, the government will build integration centres for foreigners in order to teach them the customs of their new homeland.

Disproof

Misinterpretations of the Marrakesh Political Declaration have already been addressed by both government bodies and NGOs. See www.mvcr.cz/clanek/ministr-vnitra-se-v-marrakesi-zucastnil-konference-k-reseni-migrace.aspx, The article further blends this misinterpretation with unrelated events, such as the adoption of an updated Alien Act.

Marrakesh Political Declaration was signed by representatives from 27 European and 28 African countries at a conference on migration and development in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh in May 2018.
