Defender 2020 is a test to invade Kaliningrad region

The main task of the “Defender of Europe” is to practice a rapid transfer of American forces to the border with Russia. Experts believe that the US is testing options for invading the territory of the Kaliningrad region. The maneuvers were a cause of serious concern in Moscow.

Disproof

This narrative is in line with the pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative of encircling Russia, claiming that US-led military exercise "Defender-Europe 2020" is directed against Russia. Find similar cases here.

Exercise Defender-Europe 2020 is the deployment of a division-size combat-credible force from the United States to Europe, the drawing of equipment and the movement of personnel and equipment across the theatre to various training areas. The aim of the exercises is to increase strategic readiness and interoperability by exercising the U.S. military’s ability to rapidly deploy a large combat-credible force and equipment from the United States to Europe; and alongside its allies and partners, quickly respond to a potential crisis. "The joint, multinational training exercise is scheduled to take place from April to May 2020, with personnel and equipment movements occurring from February through July 2020. The exercise supports objectives defined by NATO to build readiness within the alliance and deter potential adversaries. Approximately 37,000 U.S., allied, and partner nation service members are expected to participate with roughly 20,000 Soldiers deploying from the U.S," is noted on the official web site of the exercises.

Ukraine allows 14-year-olds to change their sex without parental consent

The Ukrainian Rada registered a bill that allows 14-year-olds to change their sex without parental consent.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Ukraine, attempting to paint the country as a failing, unstable state. Besides attacking Ukraine's legal reforms, which is one of several common disinformation strategies targeting Ukraine, it also attempts to paint the country as "morally degenerate" on LGBT issues, in line with one of the most common narratives used to attack Western values.

The bill in question aims to improve the realization of rights for adolescents in the healthcare sector; it does not provide the rights to change sex.

Polish authorities created an insane hysteria of intimidation with Russia, used for the needs of domestic politics

The intimidation with Russia, which has been taking place over the past ten years, has led to a situation where the authors of this insane hysteria got scared of the monster, which they had themselves created for the needs of domestic politics.

Disproof

This message is a part of the ongoing Russian disinformation attack on Poland, accusing this country of Russophobia, waging an information war against Russia and manipulation of history for political reasons.

The Polish authorities do not promote any policy of “intimidation with Russia” and they do not create  “insane hysterias” connected to Russia. The main current Russia-connected concerns of Poland are a result of the Russian annexation of Crimea and its involvement in the military conflict in Donbas. The Polish government shows its full support to solving the Russia-Ukraine conflict and complete restoration of territorial integrity of Ukraine.
