DISINFO: A sea of unknown migrants' graves is located at the Polish border

SUMMARY

Large numbers of unidentified graves of migrants are located on the Polish-Belarus border due to the current migration crisis, but the Polish authorities are hiding this information.

There is already a “sea” of unknown graves in the woods, and who is burying these people? A state of emergency has been imposed. No one is allowed to come close. The concerned Poles are looking for these people in the forests and burying them, and from here the unknown graves appear.

RESPONSE

Disinformation narrative linked to the migration situation on the EU-Belarus border.

There is no evidence about unmarked graves of migrants in the woods of Poland. This message is an attempt to shift the blame for the crisis artificially created by the Belarusian regime on Poland and the wider hybrid campaign against the EU.

The European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has stated that the situation on the EU-Belarus border is "the attempt of an authoritarian regime to try to destabilise its democratic neighbours". Similarly, High Representative Borrell has highlighted that the Lukashenka regime is weaponising human beings as a tool for political purposes by giving migrants false expectations and putting them in a situation of extreme vulnerability.
