Disinfo: Accusing Russia of the Vrbetice explosion attempts to abort its rapprochement with Europe

Every time that there is a rapprochement between Russia and any EU country affecting energy supplies, there are setups like the alleged Russian involvement in the Vrbetice explosion. The West does precisely what they accuse Russia of doing, hybrid warfare. When the Nord Stream 2 was close to being approved we saw the case of the alleged poisoning of Alexei Navalny, and now, when Russia is helping Czechia in the nuclear field, we see a supposed intervention of Russian agents to blow up a munitions dump as in a James Bond movie.

All this only serves to maintain Europe under the US geopolitical aegis, along with UK and Poland, which is their lapdog. Europe is at a crossroad: for the first time, its first trade partner is not the US but China, and Russia will have to be a first-class trade partner as well. So in face of this change, there is resistance from those who, until now, rather than partners, have been the masters and owners of Western Europe.

This is part of a disinformation campaign about the events surrounding the Vrbetice explosion in 2014, which killed two people and led to the expulsion of Russian diplomats from the Czech Republic in April 2021.

Contrary to the claim, accusations of Russia’s involvement in the Vrbetice explosion in 2014 are backed by conclusive evidence. The investigation by Czech authorities established beyond doubt that GRU [Russia’s military intelligence] agents Anatoly Chepiga and Alexander Mishkin, the same individuals considered responsible for the attempted murder of Sergey Skripal in Salisbury in 2018, were behind the Vrbetice explosion (see here for further details). In the same fashion, the poisoning of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny wasn’t a plot against Nord Stream 2 but a Russian intelligence operation, as has been proven by international investigators (see here our previous debunk).

By attributing these accusations to dark motives - in this case, to maintain a supposed US domination over Europe (a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative) - this disinformation message aims to deflect any Russian responsibility in the incident and portray Russia as innocent of any misdeed.

See other examples in our database, such as claims that the Czech military warehouse explosion was a US provocation, that the expulsion of Russian diplomats from Czechia is a smokescreen designed by the US, that allegations against Russia are a pretext to target Rosatom, an attempt to influence the upcoming German elections or preparation for an informational Cold War, or that Czechia is ruled by American and British intelligence agencies.

This disinformation message appeared in the same TV programme as the claims that “The ‘highly likely’ argument is used again to spread lies about Russia”, that “Western mainstream media are totally biased, only Russian and Venezuelan outlets tell the truth”, and that “The West wanted the ‘Vietnamisation’ of Ukraine’s conflict but Russia didn’t fall in the trap”.

Disinfo: The US suffers from a racial war and apartheid; kids worship saint Floyd at schools

A racial war is in full swing in the United States, a natural Apartheid is taking shape. [...]

Militant groups of African Americans have previously gathered under the banner of the Democratic Party on the eve of elections and intimidated voters. [...]

The main task of "protests" - actually pogroms - is to intimidate all opponents of the Democratic Party to a pulp. At the same time, the demonstrators are demanding from the state authorities to reduce or even simply abolish the police. Without their own security officials, the population of states that support Trump will remain completely defenseless. In 2024, you can do anything with them. They will go and vote for whomever the Democratic Party and its militants will tell them to.

The younger generation is indoctrinated into the new Apartheid from the early years in school. From the age of eight, children learn to properly worship St. Floyd and study a discipline called "systemic racism."

Disinformation about racial justice protests and Democratic Party in the US.

There is no evidence to support the article's claims that militant groups of African Americans are intimidating or physically threatening Trump supporters, let alone that they are doing it on behalf of the US Democratic Party. The claims about the racial war, Apartheid in the US or state collapse also do not reflect reality. Attempts to exagerrate, fuel and exploit racial tensions in the US date back to the USSR and are continued by contemporary pro-Kremlin media outlets.

Disinfo: The are greater guarantees of freedom of expression in Russia than in the West

The are greater guarantees of freedom of expression in Russia than in the West, including the United States.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative on freedom of speech and press, which alleges that Western governments are increasingly limiting the freedom of expression and the independence of the media.

In fact, freedom of expression is under increasing pressure in Russia. Human Rights Watch's 2020 report highlighted the persecution and arrest of journalists and citizens in Russia following the tightening of restrictive measures on the freedom of expression, aiming especially to crack down on online activities on the basis of a 2019 law that increased the government’s censoring power over the media.

Disinfo: Zelensky needs to give explanations to Washington after each of his acts

The head of the Russian state is able to independently make decisions, assume certain obligations and fulfill them. As for the head of Ukraine, unfortunately, he will have to call Washington after any negotiations. Zelensky, after a meeting with Putin, if it takes place, will be obliged to coordinate his actions with Washington.

Recurrent disinformation on the US' rule over Ukraine and the US dictating the future of Ukraine.

Ukraine is a sovereign and independent state with a democratically-elected president and parliament. The decisions are taken by the Ukrainian authorities: the President, the Verkhovna Rada, and the judiciary. Ukraine is not controlled by the US or any other foreign government or organisation. Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are confirmed by resolutions of the United Nations and is respected by most countries in the world, with Russia as the important exception.. Ukraine is a member of numerous international organisations. It has hundreds of diplomatic and consular representations across the world.
