Trusting the support of the West, Ukraine is consistently marching on the path of Afghanistan.
The speed with which the official Afghan Army stopped the resistance to the Taliban shows that the Americans have already lost their ability to achieve their goals with foreign hands. All the slogans about “human rights” and “democracy” turned out to be worthless to the Afghan fighters hungry for sovereignty. The Pentagon used to be able to instigate uprisings and coups, but the last successful coup took place over seven years ago in Ukraine (the removal of Evo Morales in Bolivia turned out to be temporary). In the case of Venezuela, Cuba and Belarus, the USA faced nothing but disasters.
The costs of the operation in Afghanistan exhausted the Soviet resources, indirectly causing the collapse of the USSR. The American costs have exceeded the Soviet expenses, so it is difficult not to have an impression that the USA may face a similar fate. Undoubtedly, the ship of America is sinking, but Poland does not have to sink with it.
Recurring pro-Kremlin narrative about colour revolutions orchestrated by the USA and an imminent collapse of the USA.
The comparison between the USA and the collapsing and struggling USSR of the 1980s is a clear manipulation. The claim that the Pentagon “inspired coups” in Ukraine, Belarus, Cuba, Venezuela and Bolivia is a classical pro-Kremlin conspiracy theory.
“Colour revolutions” is a term used by pro-Kremlin outlets to depict popular protests that have occurred in recent years in various countries and that have arisen spontaneously for various reasons related to controversial domestic policies or serious social issues, such as the protests in Catalonia, Ukraine with Euromaidan, Georgia, Belarus, Hong Kong as well as the protests in Russia. Pro-Kremlin outlets do not recognise the popular and spontaneous nature of these demonstrations of national public dissent but portray them as revolutions planned, organised and financed by Western intelligence services or other Western actors.
As noted by disinformation analysts, the threat of “colour revolutions” is a recurring theme in Russian government security discourse and pro-Kremlin media and is closely related to the idea of an external threat, which has always played an important role in the strategic communication of Soviet and Russian leadership. Today, the Russian government uses fears of an external threat as a justification to crack down on any public expression of anti-regime opposition and dissent.
