Disinfo: After elections, American foreign policy will remain unchanged as it is run by the “deep state”

Summary

The continuity in American foreign policy has another explanation. Not depending on the outcome of elections, the same people will be responsible for the sphere of foreign policy. The representatives of the “deep state” working in the CIA and other agencies consequently realise their strategy, regardless of political changes in the country.

Disproof

This message presents a classical conspiracy theory that the “deep state” and “shadow government” control the work of democratic institutions in the United States. Here are some other examples of this narrative: “Deep state” fighting with Trump; FBI appears under the influence of “Deep state”; “Deep state” shaping NATO policies. No reputable political scientists and researchers confirm the existence of a “deep state” in the United States.

The idea of a “deep state" has always been very popular among conspiracy theorists. Its manifestations might be different, but generally, the concept conjures up the image of a small group deciding the fate of the world behind the scenes. However, there is no evidence of such a "permanent bureaucracy" or "permanent government" existing in the United States.

This claim appeared in the same article as the claim that the new American President will use Poland for the destabilisation of the post-Soviet countries.

New American President will use Poland for destabilisation of the post-Soviet countries

The most important issues for the future of Poland under the rule of the new American President are easy to define. They include the following: increase of the US military presence in Poland in order to prepare for a potential confrontation with Russia; continuation of monopolisation of the Polish gas market by American companies; implementation of business agreements clearly beneficial to Washington (such as the construction of a nuclear power plant in Poland); pushing the Chinese telecommunication companies out of Poland; use of Poland for the destabilisation of the situation in the post-Soviet countries; realisation of next expensive military contracts.

Disproof

This message is a mix of the most popular disinformation narratives about US-Polish relations. It promotes the idea that the USA uses Poland as a “puppet-state” in order to achieve its economic and international goals.

The claim that the US authorities use Poland in order to destabilise the post-Soviet countries is a conspiracy theory. The import of the American LNG to Poland is aimed at de-monopolisation of the Polish energy market, making it less dependent on the Russian gas supplies.

US struck by its own technologies of colour revolutions during presidential elections

The presidential elections 2020 in the US have some specific attributes. These are the first elections where the US colour revolution technologies have returned back home. Now the people who exported colour revolutions to the World are suffering from them.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about colour revolutions in post-Soviet states. Kremlin-backed propaganda frequently claims that popular unrest in some countries (Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus) are specific political techniques which the US uses in former Soviet states. This narrative traditionally stresses that colour revolutions are directed against Russia and Russian influence in the post-Soviet area.

This article is portraying the events of the past few days in the US as "the first colour revolution returned back home”. The claim is a manipulative one linked to a strong pro-Trump bias in Russian state media.

The Bundestag resolution on the victims of Nazism is an interference in Russian internal affairs

The Bundestag resolution on the victims of Nazism does not mention the Soviet Union – it is interference in Russian internal affairs.

The resolution adopted by the Bundestag on the memory of the victims of the Second World War without mentioning the Soviet Union is an attempt of a certain ideological revenge, which is involved in large financial flows. (…) The refusal to mention the Soviet Union in the resolution is an attempt to “isolate” the country that defeated the Third Reich and Nazism. (…) This is an attempt of external interference in Russian affairs. Because this resolution is designed for the young people who will replace the outgoing veterans cohort of WWII. Now it will be introduced exactly in this plan and spirit, as depicted in this resolution.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives on Western belligerence towards Russia and historical revisionism that allegedly denies the role of the Soviet Union in the victory over Nazism.

The Bundestag resolution on the victims of Nazism called "Strengthen remembrance of the victims of the German war of extermination and recognise groups of victims of National Socialism that have received less attention to date" does mention the Soviet Union and its victims of the Second World War. The Bundestag resolution states [p. 3]:
