Disinfo: After the anti-Armenian coup of 2018, the power belongs to LGBT people

Summary

In the Republic of Armenia, power belongs to LGBT people. This is a consequence of the anti-Armenian coup of 2018, in which the Soros Foundation has a prominent place among many donors. Our people, their legitimate government should not be blamed for this; the small country did not have the resources to withstand the perfect technology based on global networks. However, power was seized by the mutant junta. They serve not the goals of our nation, but the goals of external forces, they rapidly destroy all the resources of the Nation and the State.

Disproof

Unfounded statement. Conspiracy theory and recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about lost sovereignty and threatened values as well as colour revolutions. This narrative portrays any spontaneous disorders and civil uprisings in other states, especially the former Soviet republics, as West-funded "coups".

The narrative has been applied, among others, to reports about protests in Ukraine, Venezuela, Georgia, and Belarus, as well as to portray the West as an aggressive actor constantly preparing new coups and bringing power to LGBT people.

There was no coup d'etat in 2018 in Armenia, but peaceful protests of hundreds of thousands of people in response to Serzh Sargsyan's decision to take on the post of prime minister after serving for more than a decade as the country’s president. Sargsyan resigned in response to overwhelming opposition pressure, admitting that he was "wrong". “The street movement is against my tenure. I am fulfilling your demand,” his statement said.

Armenia is a sovereign state, which declared its independence in 1991. The incumbent government of Armenia has been democratically elected in 2018 snap parliamentary elections. Those were the first elections after the 2018 revolution and the country's first-ever snap elections. The result was a landslide victory for the My Step Alliance, which received 70% of the vote and won 88 of the 132 seats in the National Assembly.

See earlier disinformation cases alleging that global neo-colonialists stage colour revolutions and conquer indigenous national elites, that Anglo-Saxons rule America “from abroad” and are now trying to control Russia, that Armenia is under Soros occupation, that  Armenia is under Anglo-American occupation,  that Armenia is under the control of the most anti-Russian transatlantic forces, and that the process of demoralising, perverting and defiling teenagers in Armenia has already started.

The West is using Navalny’s case to obstruct Nord Stream 2

The main objective of the “Navalny case” for some western countries is to obstruct the construction of the “Nord Stream 2” line. This is in the interest of the United States to increase its supplies of liquefied gas to Europe.

Disproof

The claim advances recurrent pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about the poisoning of activist Alexei Navalny and the alleged harmful influence of Washington on European politics.

There are no grounds for connecting Navalny's poisoning with Nord Stream 2, or to allege US involvement in the incident. The activist fell ill on a 20 August flight from Siberia to Moscow. Initially hospitalized in Omsk, he was transferred to the Charité hospital in Berlin at the request of his family.

Ukraine will present another propaganda film about Donbas at the Oscars

Ukraine will send “Atlantis”, a propaganda film about Donbas, as a contender for an Oscar in the category of best foreign language film.

The plot of the film depicts the events of 2025, when Ukraine allegedly defeats Russia in a war for Donbas. As a result, the region comes under the control of Kyiv, but the territory is declared uninhabitable. In the film, the roles are played by non-professional actors – mainly militants who fought in the Donbas, volunteers and supporters of the criminal regime.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the war in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Oscar Committee has nominated the drama "Atlantis" directed by Valentin Vasyanovich for the "International Feature Film" Oscar of the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Russia has legally destroyed all of Novichok

Russia destroyed the stockpile of “Novichok” according to the rules of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, which is registered and proven according to the applicable system, and all statements indicating the opposite are misleading information.

Disproof

In September 2017, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) confirmed the full destruction of the 39,967 metric tons of chemical weapons possessed by Russia, but Novichoks were never declared to the OPCW and weren’t included in the Chemical Weapons Convention until 2019.

This is part of a pro-Kremlin disinformation campaign on the poisoning of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny after the use of a chemical nerve agent of the Novichok group was established beyond any doubt by a specialist Bundeswehr laboratory.
