Disinfo: Anti-Belarusian information centre works in Ukraine

Summary

An anti-Belarusian information and psychological operations centre has been created in Ukraine. Similar centres already exist in Poland and Lithuania.

Disproof

There is no proof of Ukraine (or Poland, or Lithuania) having a so-called "operations centre" directed against Belarus.

Ukraine is an independent state which has proclaimed its position toward the situation in Belarus. Moreover, Ukraine has joined the EU in sanctions imposed against Lukashenka's regime.

The claim about Poland and Lithuania is in line with a similar message alleging that the two countries are trying to "organise a colour revolution in Belarus". Poland and Lithuania are neighbours of Belarus and continue to support the Belarusian people. Poland and Lithuania respect the principles of international law(opens in a new tab) and do not intervene in the domestic affairs of other countries.

The vessel (USS John McCain) mentioned in the article was performing what the US Navy describes as a freedom of navigation operation, or FONOP, in the vicinity of Peter the Great Gulf, which Russia claims as Russian territorial waters, but that the United States considers international waters.

They continue to use the dirty methods of so-called colour revolutions, including manipulating public opinion, supporting openly anti-government forces, promoting their radicalisation. We see how these methods are applied to the Republic of Belarus.
