Audiences believe that RT gives the most truthful information about MH17

Summary

Audiences believe that RT gives the most truthful information about the MH17. According to a Danish research, the RT channel has an exceptional influence on social networks, says The Washington Post.

Disproof

The research mentioned by The Washington Post is called "State, media and civil society in the information warfare over Ukraine: citizen curators of digital disinformation". It states that RT is the most important profile among the top 50 profiles in the disinformation network. The research does not say that the audience would believe that RT gives the "most truthful information".

Further debunk by Stop Fake.

A recent study made by The Washington Post shows that the RT audience began to be more sceptical towards this channel. For example, 74% of viewers of the RT interview with the suspects in the Skripal poisoning said that the stories were implausible. Some viewers noted that the interview was not convincing and called the RT "fake news".

Angela Merkel publicly insulted Theresa May

Angela Merkel demonstratively humiliated the British PM Theresa May in Salzburg, by refusing to shake her hand. In this way Merkel avenged May for the “Brexit”.

Disproof

In fact, the video from the summit in Salzburg shows that May stands in the crowd of her colleagues and shakes hands with them, and Merkel approaches this crowd. The British PM turns to Merkel for a moment, smiling. Then the Chancellor of Germany shakes hands with Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite, who stands next to May. She also begins to shake hands with the rest of her colleagues, still with a smile on her face. As Merkel stands with her back to the camera, throughout the scene we do not see the expression on her face.

It is worth noting that on the videos published earlier that day, we see that May and Merkel enter the building of the summit together, talking between themselves. It is therefore not surprising that later they welcomed other colleagues - they had already greeted each other earlier.

Russian MFA Spokesperson Maria Zakharova received an international PR award

Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Maria Zakharova received the international award PROBA for outstanding services in the field of Public Relations. According to the organizers, she “changed the attitude towards the PR industry in her country”.

Disproof

PROBA is a national award, founded by the Russian agency SPN Communications. Even if it classifies itself as "international", all the nominees were Russians and the jury was composed only by Russians.

According to Komsomolskaya Pravda, "the partnership agreement between PROBA and ICCO allows the winners of the Russian award to participate automatically in the ICCO Global World Awards, which gives an opportunity for Russian companies to enter into the competition for an international award".
