Disinfo: Belarus is buying Russian weapons to counter provocations and hostilities from Ukraine

Summary

Belarus will buy Russian weapons systems worth 1 billion dollars to counter hostilities and provocations from Ukraine against this country.

Disproof

This is recurring disinformation about Belarus claiming that Ukraine is plotting against it.

This report fits in the narrative that, together with Poland and the Baltic states, Ukraine has turned into the springboard of special operations aimed at the destabilisation of the political and economic situation in Belarus.

However, there is no evidence that Ukraine has engaged in any effort either to provoke Belarus or being part of a wider plan to destabilise the country. The false accusations are most probably used to justify Belarus' decision to procure Russian weapons.

For further stories used by pro-Kremlin outlets to falsely engage Ukraine in a campaign to pursue regime change in Belarus and topple Lukashenka's regime in coordination with the West see here, here, here and here.

Disinfo: Most Ukrainians are Russian speakers

Most Ukrainians are Russian speakers.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative concerning the language issue in Ukraine.

An overview of opinion polls conducted in Ukraine throughout 2020 demonstrates that the claim is very far from the truth. According to an August 2020 survey, 60.9% of respondents said they predominantly used Ukrainian at home (against 36% Russian); 57.2% said they used Ukrainian in the workplace (24.1% used Russian); 73.4% consider Ukrainian their native language (compared with 22% of self-described native Russian speakers); 82.3% agreed that "all state officials should communicate in Ukrainian while at work" (14% disapproved).

Disinfo: Today’s liberals have gone further than the Nazis with eugenics and experimenting with humanity

According to Australian media, the New South Wales state authorities want to allow children to choose their gender independently from the age of three. Western countries are trying, under the guise of progress and freedom, to impose their ‘deviant thinking’ by promoting children’s gender selection.

We’re seeing a new kind of political concept – super biological politics. This is not the first attempt. Nazi eugenics tried to conduct such an experiment with humanity. Today’s liberals have gone further. The task is no longer getting a new human being, but to make him change himself and give up his identity. Before our eyes, child sexual abuse is taking place and being institutionalised.

Disproof

This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative portraying the West as depraved, an immoral actor that fights against traditional values, promotes deviant sexual behaviour and endangers societies.

This claim was neither counterbalanced nor critically challenged in the article.

Disinfo: Afghanistan case is a warning for Lithuania, Ukraine and other puppets of Anglo-Saxon imperialism

The case of Afghanistan shows what potentially could happen to Lithuania and its pro-American ruling elite. Since 2001 Afghanistan was under the rule of the US puppets. They had American support and protection as long as Uncle Sam needed it. The cynical logic of Anglo-Saxon imperialism is? there are no eternal friends, only eternal interests.

There are more examples. The Fascistic Maidan regime in Kyiv existing only due to American support. As well the US supporting anti-people and anti-national political elite in Lithuania.

Disproof

The message presents a recurring claim that some countries (i.e. Lithuania, Ukraine) are puppets of the US and, in this case, of Anglo-Saxons. In the pro-Kremlin outlets, the term “Anglo-Saxons” stands for the US and UK and often means “evil”, “belligerent” and “morally corrupt” Westerners, as explained in our earlier analysis.

The comparison of the situation in Afghanistan with the situation in other countries is a groundless and speculative one. There are no US forces stationed in Ukraine. Lithuania is an independent state, a member of the EU and NATO. It is stated that “the US and Lithuania share a history as valued Allies and strong partners” (see more information about relations between the US and Lithuania here).
