Disinfo: By abandoning monarchy, Europe is losing its spiritual strength

Summary

By abandoning the monarchical form of government in most European countries, Europe is rapidly losing its spiritual strength, ceasing to be the Europe that developing countries and other peoples aspire to become like. Thus is the era of liberal democracy.

Disproof

Pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about liberal democracy.

The era of the great European monarchies - i.e. before World War I - was a period of mass poverty, social unrest, mass migration from Europe, and wars. The break-through of democracy has secured welfare and well-being for the citizens of Europe, social and economic progress and security.

12 countries of the European continent are monarchies, seven of those are European Union member states.

Disinfo: Ukraine is preparing a law for the mass abduction of Russian citizens

The adoption of a law [on the prisoners of war and internees] can violate the rights of Russian citizens and the entire Russian-speaking population of Ukraine. Under the guise of bringing the legislation in line with international norms, Kyiv is preparing to deport the residents of the South-East to special camps and forcefully return Donbas.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative on Ukraine and related to the war in Donbas.

The Ukrainian parliament is not preparing a bill that will allow the mass abduction of Russian citizens or their internment. The law, on the contrary, must define who can be subjected to internment, what are these people's rights and define the rights and obligations of state institutions.

Disinfo: Political regime in Lithuania is Russophobic

People in Lithuania are humiliated by political parties and coalitions.

Lithuanian foreign policy denies any initiatives of peaceful coexistence with Minsk and Russia. Today Lithuania is a country-saboteur in Eastern Europe. It is absolutely stuck in anti-Russian and anti-Belarusian politics […]

Changes are possible only after the bankruptcy of the current Lithuanian regime.

Disproof

The message is linked to political changes in Lithuania after the 2020 parliamentarian elections but uses a broader context accusing the Lithuanian authorities of Russophobia and anti-Belarusian policies.

One of the narratives attacks the “Lithuanian political regime” in general. It is portrayed as anti-popular and repressive by its nature. This statement is not backed up with any evidence. In the ranking Freedom of the World (by Freedom House) Lithuania is defined as a free country. Its score is 91 points (from 100). In comparison, Russia gains only 20 points in this ranking and is classified as not free.

Disinfo: Estonia's e-voting can be hacked

Back in 2013, during the security audit of the electronic voting system, a high level vulnerability was discovered. This means that the system can be hacked and, as a result, the election results can be falsified.

Disproof

The article refers to a report from 2013 and its author. The report claimed the e-voting system included lax and inconsistent operational security, insufficient transparency measures for proving an honest count, and a software design that was vulnerable to attack from foreign powers. However, according to the Estonian Electoral Committee representative, they have had no cooperation or contact with the group in question.

Moreover, “The timing is suspicious for us, with it being announced right before the election process begins. We are really happy with constructive criticism, but there is nothing that we see in the report that we already did not know and have been addressing."
