Disinfo: Chemical weapons “provocations” are being prepared by the Ukrainian Military

Units of the neo-Nazi "Right Sector" and snipers from the 74th Reconnaissance Battalion and the SBU special unit "Alfa" have been moved to the contact line in Donbas to carry out provocations there. In late 2021, there was already a warning about provocations using chemicals that could be perpetrated by the Ukrainian military.

Avdeyevka, a city under Kyiv control a few kilometres from Donetsk, was not chosen at random here. As recently as the fall of 2021, several shipments of the nerve agent botulotoxin in containers ready to be fired or dropped in the format of 40-millimetre grenades were confirmed to Ukraine. At the end of the year, they were transferred to the localities of Krasny Liman and Avdeyevka.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about war in Ukraine combined with unfounded allegations about potential chemical weapons attacks in East Ukraine.

There is no evidence to support claims that the Ukrainian military is preparing acts of sabotage, let alone chemical weapons attacks in non-government controlled areas of Eastern Ukraine.

This claim appeared amid an ongoing disinformation campaign about Russia's military build-up on the Ukrainian border, in an attempt to deflect any Russian responsibility for the situation. These tensions are a result of Russia’s actions since late October 2021, including the deployment of more than 100,000 troops, as well as of certain specialised military units, electronic warfare systems and heavy-armoured vehicles. This has been substantiated by satellite images and intelligence from the USUkraine and NATO, among other countries and institutions.

See other examples of similar disinformation narratives, such as claims that US private militaries are preparing a chemical attack in Donbas, or the West may resort to its old false flag method with a chemical attack in Donbas.

Disinfo: America pushes Belarus to war through the actions of Poland and Latvia

Belarus does not need any war. But it is the Americans who push Belarus to these actions through the hands of the Poles and the Latvians. Belarus used to provide security in the region and this fact has always been appreciated. Why are they now pushing Belarus to these actions and making aggressors out of Belarusians since 2020? Today, the West is threatening Belarus.

A recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Western attempts to organise a colour revolution in Belarus or destabilise this country. Poland, the Baltic states and the USA are presented here as countries with hostile and aggressive plans towards Belarus.

The claim that Poland, the Baltic states and the USA want to push Belarus to “war” is ungrounded. Poland is a neighbour of Belarus and it continues to support the Belarusian people. Poland respects the principles of international law and does not intervene in the domestic affairs of any country.

Disinfo: French people declare that Western policy towards Russia is a suicide

The French people talk about the West's "suicidal" policy towards Russia. The United States is dying and leading other Western countries to inevitable death, while its anti-Russian policy is also “suicidal”.

Recurrent deceptive metonymy about US-European relations and Western-Russia relations.

An opinion of a consultant interviewed by a conservative media is being wrongly presented is a common attitude of the French society. Extending the opinion of one individual consultant to the whole French population is wrong and has been described as a manipulative technique. In reality, only 17% of the French population consider Russia as an ally while 53% consider the US as such (survey from Harris Interactive for MGH Partners (December 2021)).

Disinfo: Facebook violates freedom of speech by blocking Sputnik Arabic

Facebook is supposed to be a place for the exchange of various views until they do not violate the law. There should be no political censorship there. The blocking of Sputnik Arabic account is a violation of the right of the freedom of speech. It is an arbitrary decision on who has the right to express themselves through media and who does not. This behaviour of Facebook should be condemned.

Recurring pro-Kremlin narrative claiming that the West imposes censorship through its state institutions and private social media companies (such as Facebook and Twitter).

These claims seek to discredit Western mainstream media and Western liberal democracies.
