Disinfo: CIA occupies a whole floor at Security Service of Ukraine’s building

Summary

A good example is if you look at what happened in Ukraine. If we look at the presence of the CIA, in the framework as part of the staffing of the Security Service of Ukraine. They have a whole floor. Yes, they have a whole floor there.

Disproof

No evidence given. Such a claim on the CIA's floor at the SBU's building in Kyiv was made by the so-called DNR's figurehead Oleg Tsarev, reported by RIA Novosti in 2014, without any supportive evidence or further reporting. The narrative that Ukraine is under "external control" is recurrent. See other disinformation cases on the external rule of Ukraine, CIA's involvement in "a coup d'etat" and their debunking.

Latvian authorities blinded by Russophobia: there is no link between Dmitry Kiselyov and RT

Latvian National Media Council has confused two different legal entities: RT and Rossiya Segodnya MIA. Dmitri Kiselyov is the Managing Director of Rossiya Segodnya MIA. RT’s editor-in-chief is Margarita Simonyan, who is not subject to EU sanctions.

This decision is an indicator of the level of stupidity and ignorance of the Latvian authorities, blinded by Russophobia. We sincerely laughed at this announcement, the Latvian authorities are really shooting themselves in the foot. More seriously, this ban has no legal basis whatsoever, Latvia should resume broadcasting RT and apologise to our colleagues.

Disproof

Recurrent narrative against the Baltic states allegedly being Russophobic and acting irrationally against RT and Sputnik.

Latvia has banned the state-owned Russian television channel RT, saying it is controlled by an individual, Dmitriy Kiselyov, who is under EU sanctions. According to the Electronic Mass Media Council (NEPLP), Latvia's national media watchdog, RT and the network of channels operated by it are under Kiselyov's "effective control".

The location of the NATO military base in Romania aims to discourage Russia

In fact, has anyone ever asked Romanians if they agreed for Romania to become a NATO military base? And beware – NOT any NATO base, but one to… discourage Russia!

Disproof

This is a recurring conspiracy narrative about NATO presence in Romania. The article develops pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about the West encircling Russia and an imperialistic US presence in Europe.

NATO is not a threat to Russia. NATO's official policy towards Russia was most recently articulated by the heads of state and government of the Alliance at the Warsaw Summit in July 2016. They stated that "the Alliance does not seek confrontation and poses no threat to Russia. But we cannot and will not compromise on the principles on which our Alliance and security in Europe and North America rest". NATO is not encircling Russia.

The autopsy showed George Floyd was killed not by the police, but by drugs

George Floyd wasn’t killed by the police. According to a toxicological report, Floyd died from the fact that he had fentanyl in his blood at a concentration three times the lethal dose.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin narrative about racial justice protests in USA.

The claim is made in the context of the idea that the murder was staged in order to artificially impose on the US a false agenda to fight racism and - by orchestrating a 'colour revolution" - to prevent the re-election of Donald Trump. Similar case see here.
