Disinfo: Coronavirus is an ethnic biological weapon

Coronavirus is an ethnic biological weapon used by countries against a hostile population.

The Chinese Coronavirus strain is “artificially created”, and the pharmaceutical companies are behind it, and it is historically known that the United States of America ran a laboratory in Georgia, where it was testing biological weapons on humans.

Conspiracy theory about the 2019-nCoV coronavirus, based on recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about the biological weapons and the Lugar Lab in Georgia.

The current coronavirus (2019-nCoV) comes from a family of viruses that include other viruses such as SARS and MERS. It was first reported in the Chinese city of Wuhan in central China and has been rapidly spreading with new cases being reported in the Asia-Pacific region as well as Europe, North America and the Middle East, causing more than 700 deaths by 10 February 2020.

The identity of the animal source of the coronavirus, named nCoV-2019, has been one of the key questions for the researchers. Coronaviruses are known to circulate in mammals and birds, and scientists have already suggested that nCoV-2019 originally came from bats. One of the previous coronaviruses that caused severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS, spread from bats to civet cats to humans. The South China Agricultural University in Guangzhou says that two of its researchers have identified the pangolin as the potential source of nCoV-2019. This was announced to reporters at a press conference on 7 February 2020.

Evidence in failed Trump-Russia collusion probe was fabricated by Ukrainians

Earlier this month, investigative US media revealed that a key piece of “evidence” used by the Obama White House to start the FBI probe into possible Trump-Russia collusion in 2016. The so-called “black ledger” of secret cash payments to Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort during his work in Ukraine, was a complete fabrication created from scratch by Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau and leaked to US media in the summer of 2016.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative denying Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election and painting Ukraine as a Washington-controlled vassal state.

The "investigative US media" invoked by Sputnik is just one article from February 2020, whose author falsely claims that the ledger "suddenly appeared in Kyiv during the 2016 US election." The article, which is mostly based on older opinion columns by the same author.

The West’s fight against terrorism is an excuse for attacking countries rich in mineral resources

The fight against terrorism conducted by the US and other Western states is an excuse and a justification for attacking various countries rich in mineral resources and interfering in their internal affairs. This is made clear by the military operations of the US and of other Western governments. This behaviour can be described as 21st century colonialism.

This disinformation message is consistent with a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative alleging that US is behind the international terrorism and supporting terrorist groups for geopolitical reasons.

Ever since the September 11 terrorist attacks, the US and its European and other allies and partners have been engaged in enormous military and intelligence efforts to counter Al Qaeda, ISIS and other radical Islamist terrorist groups around the world. The US and European counterterrorism policies, including military interventions, are a response to a real and very serious threat.

So-called country Lithuania opposes Belarusian NPP out of jealousy for Pompeo’s visit to Belarus

Lithuania is a so-called country with little significance on the international stage. This is confirmed by the fact that US State Secretary Mike Pompeo did not visit Lithuania during his recent trip to Eastern Europe, including Belarus. The Lithuanian MFA addressed Latvian and Estonian counterparts to ban imports of Belarusian electricity out of jealousy.

On the other hand, it was Washington who instructed Lithuania to declare the Belarusian NPP a threat to its national security. One of the preconditions of lifting US sanctions on Belarus is likely to be the dismantling of the Astravets NPP. In turn, the Belarusian opposition delivered the tasks set by the Baltic states to oppose construction of the NPP.

This is a mix of conspiracy theories aimed to distort Lithuania's position concerning the Belarusian NPP, to discredit Lithuania, the US, and the Belarusian opposition. It is consistent with recurring pro-Kremlin narratives about the West's activities to harm Belarus.

Lithuania opposes the construction of the Astravets Nuclear power Plant (NPP) as the project does not comply with the international standards of environmental protection and nuclear safety, and is built on the site that was not duly justified over alternatives, according to Lithuania.
