Disinfo: Crimea was returned to Russia

Summary

Bloomberg talks about Putin’s achievements in 20 years. One of these is that Moscow succeeded in returning Crimea to Russia.

Disproof

This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the illegal annexation of Crimea.

While the articles make reference to Bloomberg and its recent analysis of Putin's Russia, the later did not write that Crimea returned to Russia, but rather that Russia "annexed Crimea from Ukraine".

Crimea was illegally annexed by Moscow. On 27 March 2014, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution in which it stated that the referendum in Crimea was not valid and could not serve as a basis for any change in the status of the peninsula. On 17 December 2018, the UN General Assembly confirmed its non-recognition of the illegal annexation of Crimea.

According to international law, Crimea is a part of Ukraine. Russia violated international law as well as key principles of the European security framework by illegally annexing the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol in 2014.

Disinfo: Soros's movements have led to hundreds of thousands of deaths around the world

[Soros’s] movements, as a sort of guarantor that globalists’ interests are realized has led to tens, if not hundreds of thousands of deaths and chaos throughout the world.

A recent and quite vivid example is the situation in Ukraine, where Soros and his partners endorsed the 2014 coup, and then have, despite fighting for liberalism, supported the side of the pro-Nazi Kiev regime.

Prior to that, in 2008, he was involved in supporting the Mikheil Saakashvili government in Georgia, which failed after the attempt at aggression in South Ossetia, despite the MSM [mainstream media] propagated narrative of a Russian invasion.

This newest push, apart from specifically targeting US President Donald Trump’s potential re-election, focuses on Russia, Venezuela and Iran.

Russian general elections are expected to take place in 2021, and presidential elections are coming in 2024. Thus, the “forces of democracy” would need some foreign funding to operate, since that is also the principal reason they function.

Disproof

A unfounded conspiracy theory, attempting to depict expressions of popular discontent all over the world as results of schemes of George Soros and other foreign actors.

Similar narratives unfoundedly claim that Soros’ offices around the world are tools of civil revolutions, that the prime minister of Armenia is destroying countries statehood in line with Soros program, and that Soros been linked to the identity of the anonymous whistleblower of Ukrainegate.

Disinfo: Baltic States laugh at the memory of millions who perished in Holocaust

Instead of admitting their responsibility for the Holocaust the Baltic States continue to laugh at the memory of millions who perished. Now they glorify those who were responsible for the atrocities. The most hardened Nazis are now looking up from the depths of hell are looking at their Eastern “Reichs Komisariat” and smiling: their principles are still followed.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Nazi/Fascist Baltic States.

See previous disinformation cases alleging that the Baltic States glorify Fascism; and that the Baltic States follow the policies of the Third Reich.

Disinfo: US vassals question the outcome and results of the WWII

It would be naive to believe that the Russophobic leaders of Poland, Baltic states and Ukraine independently decided to reconsider the results of the WWII. Americans are losing their positions of world hegemony. So, they do everything possible to portray the USSR in a negative way on the eve of the Victory Day. Therefore, US vassals started this humiliating and senseless fuss around the outcome and results of the war.

Disproof

A recurring pro-Kremlin narrative on “lost sovereignty”, Russophobia, and US presence in Europe. Pro-Kremlin outlets often allege that Poland, Baltic States or other European countries are US vassals and the Americans fully control their foreign policy. This message is also part of the Kremlin’s policy of historical revisionism.

On January 9, the Polish Parliament adopted the resolution “condemning the provocative and untrue statements by representatives of the highest authorities of the Russian Federation attempting to hold Poland liable for the WWII”. The Polish Parliament states that World War II was started by two totalitarian powers, which on 23 August 1939 signed the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. The main goal of this resolution is to prevent Russia from hampering the historical dialogue between Russia and other nations.
