Disinfo: Economical disaster awaits Ukraine, the West is to blame

Summary

Ukraine is on the brink of economical disaster because of the attempts by the West to “plunder the national wealth” of the country.

Disproof

Recurring disinformation about the relationship between the West and Ukraine. The EU is helping Ukraine through various very concrete means: first of all, the entry into force of the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine on 1st of January 2016 offers duty free (for most products) access to the largest market in the world to Ukrainian companies; second, the EU has granted cheap and long term loans to Ukraine to help the country to stabilized its economy: 2,2 bn € have been disbursed already; third, the EU (whose Member States represent altogether the largest IMF shareholder) is strongly supporting the IMF loans and programmes which have helped to stabilize the economic situation in Ukraine and will continue to help the country to reform its economy; fourth, the EU is providing substantial budget support, technical assistance and loans to the businesses through the EIB. eeas.europa.eu/headquarters/headquarters-Homepage/4081/eu-ukraine-relations-factsheet_en, Further debunking by Stopfake

Disinfo: Czech Minister of Interior supported Dublin IV

The Czech Minister of Interior voted for reform of the EU asylum system (the so called Dublin IV). It will result in the removal of control of migration from Czech national authorities.

Disproof

This claim was denied by Czech MoI. No voting took place regarding Dublin IV, negotiations are ongoing.

The Dublin IV proposal retains the link between responsibility in the field of asylum and the respect by Member States of their obligations in terms of protection of the external border, subject to exceptions designed to protect family unity and the best interests of the child. The current criteria for the allocation of responsibility are essentially preserved, but targeted changes are proposed, notably to strengthen family unity under Dublin by extending the family definition.

Disinfo: Germany threatens to 'strike first' against Russia

The latest news from the “Berliner Express”: “If there is no other way, you have to strike first,” said Federal Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen about a possible NATO war against Russia. “Therefore, the Bundeswehr must be brought up to speed as quickly as possible.”

Disproof

The story comes from Berliner Express, a site that clearly states it is satire. It is not the first time that Contra Magasin spreads disinformation.
