Disinfo: The Elites want to end the emotional ties of the family

Elites have severed the emotional bonds of the family by isolating parents from children and putting grandparents in residences for the elderly.

Conspiracy theory. The article provides no evidence to support its claim that “élites” are deliberately undermining family bonds. The article contains a recurring pro-Kremlin narrative portraying the West as a decadent and immoral society  in which the family institution is collapsing and claiming that Western governments and “global élites” seek to deliberately undermine and destroy traditional family values,  patriarchal societies and religion.

The notion of "threatened values" is one of the master narratives used in pro-Kremlin disinformation, in order to suggest that those committed to decency and traditional values are under attack from liberal “global élites”.

The article’s message is also consistent with recurrent pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives  about all-powerful global élites or secret élites ruling the world and controlling leaders.

See previous cases claiming that the UN and US attack the institution of the family in Slavic countries and that Belgium prosecutes the propagation of traditional family values.

Cases in the EUvsDisinfo database focus on messages in the international information space that are identified as providing a partial, distorted, or false depiction of reality and spread key pro-Kremlin messages. Russophobic forces will clash with each other in the second round of Presidential elections in Poland

[At the upcoming second round of elections], two parties of Polish Russophobia will clash with each other. The first one is aggressive – it undermines the very right of Russia to implement its own policies or even to exist. It respects the Russian strength, but only because it would like to destroy Russia with the help of American soldiers. The second force even likes Russia and for sure, from time to time, it listens to Tchaikovsky – although, it wants the Russian Federation to turn into the same “Third World of the West” as Poland.

This message is a part of the Kremlin’s widespread narrative about Russophobic Poland. The Kremlin-controlled media regularly accuses the political elites of Poland of Russophobia and the implementation of anti-Russian policies. Within this narrative, the “Russophobic” policies of Poland are often explained by the claim that the United States fully controls the domestic and foreign policy of this country (presenting Poland as an American “puppet-state” or a “banana republic”).

The claim that the mainstream political forces of Poland want to “destroy Russia with the help of American soldiers” or to turn this country into the “Third World of the West” is a conspiracy theory.

The USA and NATO carry out a propaganda war around WWII history in order to defame and isolate Russia and President Putin

The [historical] facts will not stop Western mainstream media and Twitter “experts” from making various accusations against President Putin and the Russian Federation. The [historical] facts will not stop the Poles from denying their dark history from the 1930s. It is a part of a dangerous US/NATO campaign aimed at defamation and isolation of the Russian Federation and its President. Thus, the propaganda war around World War II will continue.

This message is part of the Kremlin’s policy of historical revisionism,  it accuses the USA, EU and NATO of the“falsification and re-writing” of WWII history in order to harm Russia. Any disagreement with the Kremlin’s official view on the history of WWII is automatically labelled by Russia as support for “Nazism” or “falsification of history”.

The same article makes another claim about the European Parliament and the OSCE promoting false history.

The European Parliament and OSCE promote false history

By the false history, I understand something that is widely distributed, among others, by the European Parliament in Strasbourg and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. The Western reaction to the article of Putin has been furious, outraged and simply funny.

This message is part of the Kremlin’s policy of historical revisionism. It accuses the EU and particular EU members such as the Baltic states and Poland of the  “falsification and re-writing” of WWII history. Any disagreement with the official Kremlin’s view on the history of WWII is automatically labelled by Russia as support for “Nazism” or “falcification of history”.

The European Parliament resolution on the importance of European remembrance for the future of Europe stressed the fact that WWII was an immediate result of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. The resolution is aimed at the promotion of historical remembrance about WWII and condemnation of totalitarian ideologies.
