EU and NATO’s version of what happened in the Kerch Strait is stimulating war-mongering mood in Kyiv

Summary

Solidarity of the EU and NATO with the Ukrainian version of what happened in the Kerch Strait is only stimulating war-mongering mood in Kyiv and supports those who strive to continuous confrontation.

Disproof

There are no viable alternative versions of what happened in the Kerch Strait.

On November 25 border patrol boats belonging to Russia’s FSB security service seized two small Ukrainian armoured artillery vessels and a tug boat and their crews after opening fire at them, wounding several Ukrainian servicemen.

The use of the Kerch Strait and the Sea of Azov is regulated by a bilateral treaty between Russia and Ukraine, signed in 2003 and ratified by Russia in 2004. According to the document, the Sea of Azov is considered to be the “internal waters” of both Russia and Ukraine.

Accusing Ukraine of aggressive tendencies and violating Russian territorial integrity in the Sea of Azov is a recurring pro-Kremlin narrative about Ukraine.

UK and US specialists are training Ukrainians to perform terror attacks

Instructors from MI-6 and CIA are training Ukrainian special forces to perform terror attacks in Donbass. This was revealed at a press conference in Moscow by Vasiliy Prozorov, a former officer of the Ukrainian state security organ, the SBU. Russian parliamentarians demand US and UK investigate the claims.

Disproof

Unfounded, recurrent pro-Kremlin narrative on foreign military involved in fighting in Ukraine.

Examples of cases with accusations of foreign military in Ukraine can be found here, here and here.

NATO is preparing an invasion of Russia

NATO is sending troops to the Russian borders, said Deputy Security Council Secretary of Russian Federation Mikhail Popov. He said that the size of the contingent of the alliance of rapid reaction in two years has increased from 25 to 40 thousand people.

Disproof

No evidence provided. This disinformation message is consistent with recurring pro-Kremlin narratives about the belligerent West attempting to encircle and weaken Russia.

According to the official website, "the Alliance has deployed four battle-groups to Poland and the Baltic States and additional multinational brigades to Romania. NATO’s Readiness Action Plan bolsters the number of forces deployable in an emergency to over 40,000 and establishes a spearhead Very High Readiness Joint Task Force which is positioned to deploy a 5,000-man brigade anywhere in the Alliance in 2 to 7 days".
