Disinfo: The EU hinders exports of Georgian honey to EU market

Summary

Georgian honey will never gain access to the European market, because the EU adopted special regulations which Georgia will fail to fulfill. There should be no pit latrines in an eight-kilometer radius from beehives that is unimaginable in Georgian reality. Georgian products will never gain a foothold on European and American markets, because no such opportunities have been opened up.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin narrative on the EU destroying Georgia's economy. After signing the Association Agreement (AA) with the EU and DCFTA, pro-Kremlin actors have been exploiting the disinformation that Georgian products will not have access to the European market.

In 2016, the European Union included Georgia in the list of “third countries” and allowed Georgian honey to be imported to the EU. Exports of Georgian products to the EU market are regulated under the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA), according to which Georgian honey enjoys quota-free access to the EU market. Beehives must be positioned in an area within a radius of 3 km,  free of contamination by chemicals, rather than 8 km, as claimed.

The ENPARD-supported State Program to Support Beekeeping Agriculture Cooperatives was launched in 2017. The program improves the material and technical base of agriculture beekeeping cooperatives and increases the quality and quantity of honey and other beekeeping products through providing capital investment for agriculture cooperatives. 150 beekeeping cooperatives were granted with over 11,190 beehives and other equipment important for honey production.

US protests are financed by George Soros in an attempt to prevent Trump’s re-election

An intention to destroy the balance in the relationship between white and black is not the only reason for the US protests. Everything is much more complicated. The name of financial speculator George Soros is openly […] announced. We have to remind that he is a “wallet” of colour revolutions and, thus, he decided to engage in a struggle with the current American president Donald Trump.

Disproof

The story advances the pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative alleging that the racial justice protests in the US are being financed by George Soros.

There is no evidence to suggest that the protests in the US broke out through “top-down mobilisation,” or that someone is financing the protests. This narrative portrays any spontaneous disorders and civil uprisings in other states, very often the former Soviet republics, as Western-funded "colour revolutions".

MH17: JIT falsified evidence confirming that Ukrainian BUK is behind MH17 crash

The Joint Investigation Team working on the MH17 case does not hesitate in falsifying data in order to assign responsibility to the Russian Federation.

[…] representatives of the DPR recorded the detection of rocket fragments with hull number 886847379. Judging by the marking, the projectile was listed at the military unit 20152 located in the Lviv region (Ukraine). In addition, the militia managed to fix the frequency at which the Kupol radar system that interacted along with the Buk air defence system. All this information, indicating the involvement of Kyiv in the plane crash, was ignored by the JIT.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the downing of flight MH17 and the subsequent Joint International Investigation.

A special team, known as the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), was established to conduct the criminal investigation of the downing of the Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 in 2014. The team comprises officials from the Dutch Public Prosecution Service and the Dutch police, along with police and criminal justice authorities from Australia, Belgium, Malaysia and Ukraine.

Ukraine is going to launch a missile strike on Russia

Ukraine is going to attack the Russian city of Novorossiysk with Neptune rockets. They will not succeed, because the Ukrainians cannot create anything themselves. Ukraine is just using Soviet rocket models.

Disproof

The Ukrainian authorities did not declare that they intend to start bombing Russian cities.

The modernisation of Ukraine's defence complex began after the start of Russian aggression, as a response to the Kremlin's occupation of Ukrainian territories. A sample of the brand new Neptune cruise missile was presented in 2015, shortly followed by practical testing. Neptune was created as the first Ukrainian cruise missile and it is possible to use it from various types of carriers: ships, aircraft and coastal complexes. The ground-based cruise missile is a fully Ukrainian development of the state-owned enterprise Luch, in cooperation with Motor Sich and other enterprises that are part of the Ukroboronprom state concern.
