Disinfo: EU uses the US position as a guideline in its relations with Russia

Summary

EU uses the US position as a guideline in its relations with Russia, because it’s scared by a possible creation of a Russian-European empire, says Fyodor Biryukov, director of the Institute of Freedom, member of the Bureau of the Presidium of the Political Council of the “Rodina” Party.

Disproof

No evidence given. Recurring pro-Kremlin narrative: https://euvsdisinfo.eu/report/the-usa-is-controlling-europe-through-occupied-germany/

The EU's most recent policy vis-a-vis Russia has been formulated in 2016 in the Five Guiding Principles that include selective engagement with Russia on issues like migration, counter-terrorism, or climate change; or support for Russia's civil society.

NATO and the US have provided vital stability and security to Europe for many years.

Disinfo: Ukrainian Authorities Deliberately Sent MH17 Airliner Into Warzone

Ukrainian authorities deliberately sent MH17 airliner into war zone.

Disproof

Many competing and contradictory stories promulgated by Russian state-controlled media on MH17. https://euvsdisinfo.eu/disinformation-cases/?text=mh17&disinfo_issue=&date= The airspace was closed over the area up to 32,000 feet. The commercial flight MH17 was passing the area at 33,000 feet. There was nothing to suggest at the time that the presumed ill-equipped pro-Russian separatists would have access to sophisticated weapons that would be able to shoot down an airplane at that height. euvsdisinfo.eu/retracing-the-steps-of-a-disinformation-campaign/ Background: The Joint Investigation Team investigation has meticulously traced the BUK that shot down MH17 on its way from Russia and back. For a full explanation of the findings from the JIT, watch their video where they conclude that the BUK that shot down MH17 came from the Russian Armed Forces. It was transported into pro-Russian separatist controlled area by a Russian convoy. There is forensic and visual evidence, and three independent investigations have all come to the same conclusion. Meanwhile, Russia used its veto to block a draft resolution to set up an international tribunal into the MH17 air disaster.

Disinfo: The Investigators Were Silent, Following New Russian Claims on MH17

“We are unfortunately living in a propaganda era, when media and the Western establishment are trying to discredit any information coming from Russia. The team that investigates the plane’s downing will be obliged to take into account this new information released by the Russian authorities but the international community will remain silent. They prefer not to speak on a topic where they were wrong. They are and will remain totally silent on a subject. Their silence proves that this information is true and credible.”

Disproof

On Monday 17 September, the JIT, tasked with probing the case, issued a statement saying it had “taken note of the information that has been publicly presented by the authorities of the Russian Federation for the first time today.” The JIT went on to say that it had asked for the Russian Federation to provide “all relevant information” as early as 2014, specifically requesting in May of this year “information concerning numbers found on several recovered missile parts.” The JIT said it would “meticulously study” the new material once the new documents are made available, adding that information previously provided by Russia “had proven to be “factually inaccurate,” citing the “alleged presence of a fighter plane in the vicinity of MH17 on radar imagery presented to the public on (at) a press conference in July 2014.” Read the full debunk by Polygraph.: https://www.polygraph.info/a/fact-check-mh17-russia-missile-claim/29501085.html?ltflags=mailer
