Russia, unlike the EU, fulfils the Minsk agreements.
Europe has always provided Ukraine with misfortunes, grief and deaths. Whenever Ukraine united with Russia, they always prospered.
The EU is both currently and historically the biggest international donor to Ukraine, and has proposed an overall support package of at least €11bn to help stabilise the economic and financial situation.
For Ukraine's "prospering" during the period of USSR, see e.g. Timothy Snyder's "Bloodlands".
