Disinfo: Europeanization of Moldova can turn into Islamisation

Summary

The Europeanization of the Republic of Moldova can turn into Islamisation.

Moldova surrendered its economy through the free trade (agreement) with the EU. Many important Moldovan politicians are under the influence of the Arab sheikhs. Over the past two years, there were numerous trips of leading politicians to such countries as Qatar, the UAE and Saudi Arabia and vice versa. It seems that these countries are intensively sent to Moldova to colonize it. Thus, the Islamisation of the Republic of Moldova will take place in the near future.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin narrative about islamisation: euvsdisinfo.eu/figure-of-the-week-50/,

No evidence given.

Regarding the The Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), this is compatible with all other free trade agreements that Moldova is part of, and does not limit Moldova's ability to export its products to other countries. Moldova also retains full sovereignty over its trade policy since it is not a member of any customs union. The EU is Moldova’s first trading partner and biggest investor in the country. In 2016, it accounted for 66% of Moldova’s overall exports and 55% of total trade.

A great number of Russians travel to tourist destinations in the Baltic states “to feed the Nazis”

A great number of Russians travel to tourist destinations in the Baltic states “to feed the Nazis” with the money they leave there. All Russians should stop travelling to Russophobic countries: by travelling to the Baltic states they are feeding Russophobes and Nazis”.

Disproof

Recurring disinformation on the Baltic countries and Nazis. No evidence to substantiate the assertions that the three countries are Russophobe or fascist (two of the most common labels used by pro-Kremlin disinformation outlets). A map shows: Kyiv’s eccentricity has already split the country

[A map of Ukraine divided between Russia, Hungary, Romania and Poland is shown on the studio screen with just a rump state left around Kyiv.]

“Kyiv’s eccentricity has already split the country”. Since Transcarpathia belonged to Hungary prior to the beginning of the 20th century, Budapest wants to “regain control” of the region, “even if no one is openly talking about it”. “In the south it’s not at all historically Ukrainian either” and “the Poles are keeping an eye on Ukrainian Galicia, Polissia and Volhynia”.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation undermining Ukraine's statehood and territorial integrity. No EU country claims any territory from Ukraine. https://euvsdisinfo.eu/disinformation-cases/?text=ukraine+romania&disinfo_issue=&date=

As for Moscow's aggression: The Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has stated that “the information available suggests that the situation within the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol amounts to an international armed conflict between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. This international armed conflict began at the latest on 26 February when the Russian Federation deployed members of its armed forces to gain control over parts of the Ukrainian territory without the consent of the Ukrainian Government https://www.icc-cpi.int/iccdocs/otp/161114-otp-rep-PE_ENG.pdf. Many countries agreed that sentencing Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov is correct

“Many countries have recognised Russia’s right for sentencing the Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov for terrorism,” said Mikhail Markelov, advisor to the head of the ‘Yedinaya Rossiya’ Party in the State Duma.

Disproof

On the contrary: in fact, many European leaders asked to release Sentsov.

The European Parliament has demanded that the Russian authorities immediately and unconditionally release Sentsov and more than 70 Ukrainian citizens illegally detained in Russia and on the Crimean peninsula. The EU has stated that it expects international human rights standards on the peninsula to be upheld and all illegally detained Ukrainian citizens in Russia and on the Crimean peninsula to be released without delay.
