Disinfo: Sweden's Armed Forces to employ military sheep against Russia

The Swedish military has come up with a new method to demonstrate presence on its Eastern borders. They have decided to use rams instead of watch dogs. This is another example of how the Liberal Swedish Government is trying to use the “threat from Russia” to evade attention to the urgent internal issues, facing the country.

Disproof

Recurrent pro-Kremlin disinformation on western military, encircling Russia. Similar cases here and here. Sweden established a military unit on the island of Gotland in 2018, consisting of a few hundred conscripts. The ram is a symbol of the island and the Gotland Regiment's mascot.

Disinfo: Zelenskiy’s new Twitter account follows the official Kremlin account and Dmitry Medvedev

Zelenskiy’s new Twitter account follows the official Kremlin account, and that of Russian PM Medvedev. Zelenskiy wrote his first “presidential” tweet in Russian and immediately subscribed to the Kremlin and Medvedev.

Disproof

The team of Volodymyr Zelenskiy claims that there are many fake accounts of Zelenskiy created in social networks, and that the Twitter account mentioned earlier in the news, which follows official Kremlin and Russia's prime minister Dmitry Medvedev is also fake. Zelenskiy's team posted a list of official pages and sources. One of the many pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives around the Ukrainian elections.

Disinfo: The West "did not notice" that more than 6 million Ukrainians were deprived of the right to vote

The West “did not notice” that more than 6 million Ukrainians – those living in Donbas region, those who are working in Russia and temporary migrants – were deprived of the right to vote in the elections. Thus, the West has demonstrated “double standards and selective approach”.

Disproof

No evidence given. This is a recurring narrative on the Ukraine elections. According to OPORA civic network, an election watchdog, voting stations were opened in both regions. In Donetsk oblasts, there are 12 electoral districts (for an estimated 1.4 million voters), while in Luhansk oblast, there are 6 districts (for an estimated 522,000 voters). They were all open according to schedule.

Voting stations were even opened in the zone of military operations in Donbas – where military personnel are voting. According to Ukraine’s General Staff, there are a total of 79 special voting stations in the area of the Joint Forces Operation: 14 in Luhansk oblast and 65 in Donetsk oblast. “Voting has been organised in accordance with the law and is occurring without excesses,” according to the military.
