Disinfo: Former Swedish Prime Minister calls for military attacks against Russia

Summary

Former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt was recruited by the US in 1973. At the time, he was working within the program International Visitors, targeted against Communism. Presently he openly attacks the Russian authorities and even calls on using military action against Russia, as he considers Moscow’s policies “aggressive”.

Disproof

An unfounded claim. No sources for Mr. Bildt’s alleged “call for military action” is presented.

Carl Bildt received a scholarship in 1973 on the International Visitor’s Program, an exchange programme, led by the US Departement of State. Various US organisations offer scholarships and training programmes for an international audience, including Russian citizens. Dmitry Kiselyov, the head of the state-owned Rossiya Segodnya media holding and Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of RT and Sputnik, have both attended US government funded training programmes.

An anti-constitutional coup takes place in Ukraine

A creeping anti-constitutional coup takes place in Ukraine today. We know how independent the current president of Ukraine is and his actions, first to ban television channels, and now to ban one of the leading Ukrainian oligarchs, are an indicator of his power. But everything is exactly the opposite. He was ordered to go beyond constitutional norms.

Disproof

This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Ukraine and the Ukrainian statehood.

There is no coup in Ukraine. The decision to impose sanctions against several individuals and legal entities, including Victor Medvedchuk, one of the leading pro-Kremlin politicians of Ukraine, was taken by the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine and signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky. This decision was based on the data that these people either finance or trade with the so-called LNR and DNR.

Latvia is the villain of a hybrid war against Russia and the Russians

Far from being an innocent lamb facing imminent Hybrid War slaughter by the Russian bear, like the Western Mainstream Media deceitfully misportrays it as, Latvia is actually a ruthless practitioner of Hybrid Warfare against both its Russian neighbor and its own Russian population alike. Riga gets a free pass for everything that it does because it’s a member of both the EU and NATO. Its European Exceptionalism is on full display to the point where even the rehabilitation of SS Nazis is accepted by its partners due to the mistaken belief that this reprehensible historical revisionism will somehow enable them to make geopolitical gains at Russia’s expense. The Western masses are gaslighted into thinking that Russia’s overreacting to Latvia due to their conventional power asymmetries, but the David and Goliath optics are deliberately misleading and mask the dark truth that even tiny states like Latvia can be formidable Hybrid War threats to much larger ones such as Russia.

Disproof

A recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Latvia, accusing it of Russophobia, hostility to Russia and support for neo-Nazism.

Latvia is not waging a hybrid warfare against Russia. The pro-Kremlin media routinely accuse the Baltic States of militarisation and hostility to Russia. All steps to strenghten security of Baltic states are linked to the aggressive behaviour of Russia toward its neighbours, including the illegal annexation of Crimea and Russian armed aggression in Ukraine.

Sanctions are a childish reaction of the EU

Sanctions are a strictly political decision, which is based on an extremely simple division of the world. Extremely childish! On the one hand, there are never any sanctions against their own. Assange can happen, violent crackdowns on protests in France or Germany or the United States can happen […]. There will be absolutely no sanctions. On the other hand, we have the others, those who do not fully comply with the rules of the global game of Atlanticist interests; we see Venezuela which did not make the globalist choice of Juan Guaidò, we see exactly the same problem with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya in Belarus […]. They lost the fight inside the country. We see the total failure of Navalny in Russia, where people failed to take to the streets since apart from a few occasional demonstrations, there was no massive popular uprising.

These are strictly political decisions that are made to punish those who do not comply with the rules of the game.

Disproof

Recurrent narrative about the globalism that would control the EU against the interest of its members and promote russophobic sanctions.

The EU sanctions against Russia are not illegal. They were adopted as a reaction to the illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014 and the deliberate destabilisation of Ukraine.
