Disinfo: German military colonel and CIA responsible for the American proxy war in Ukraine

Summary

The civil war in Ukraine began with a German military colonel. The German Colonel Schneider was supposed to control the striking power of the Kyiv troops shortly before the Ukrainian civil war. The secret mission almost ended in disaster. What did the German military inspectors have to hide in East Ukraine? Except that their real objective in eastern Ukraine was to prepare for a proxy war. What a coincidence. Shortly before that, CIA chief Brennan had visited Kyiv incognito. After his secret visit, the provisional Ukrainian post-coup government moved tank columns eastwards. There are many indications that the Obama administration has asked the Germans for support at the front line. A request that could not be refused. The military inspectors got caught in the big chessboard policy.

Disproof

Recurring multiple pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about the war in Ukraine, attempting to portray it as a civil war or an American proxy war, prepared by the CIA. This new claim tries to connect a military OSCE-observer mission in 2014 with the outbreak of the war in the Donbas. There is no civil war in eastern Ukraine, nor is there any connection between a military OSCE Observation Mission in 2014 and the outbreak of war in eastern Ukraine. The claim disregards the extensive factual evidence confirming ongoing Russian military presence in Donbas. The war in eastern Ukraine is not a civil conflict, but an act of aggression by the Russian armed forces that began in February 2014. Additionally, there was no coup d'état in Ukraine. The spontaneous onset of the Euromaidan protests was an organic reaction by numerous parts of the Ukrainian population to former President Yanukovych’s sudden departure from the promised Association Agreement with the European Union in November 2013. See the full debunk of this disinformation claim here. On the military observer-mission, under the auspices of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE): Pro-Russian separatists held an unarmed OSCE-military observer captive, including four Germans, for eight days in Sloviansk. The military observers had been captured on 26 April 2014 during a reconnaissance mission in eastern Ukraine. The group also included a Dane, a Pole and a Czech. A Swedish officer was released on medical reasons. Unlike the official and civilian OSCE observers in Ukraine, whose deployment required the consent of all member states, the military inspection teams visit individual member states at their invitation to verify information on weapon systems or manoeuvres. The OSCE inspection team deals only with the Ukrainian military, its positions and weapons. The inspection team was invited to Ukraine at the beginning of the crisis and its focus of work has been shifted to the East. The host country, Ukraine was responsible for the safety of the guests. The military observers were unarmed. Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about German-US relations. Pro-Kremlin outlets often use this narrative about different countries being under the American thumb. The trope has been used frequently, with several similar cases in the EUvsDisinfo database: Germany is a vassal of the US; Germany is the executor of US hegemony over Europe; The USA is controlling Europe through occupied Germany; Germany will have to choose between defending Europe's interest and catering to Washington.

US laboratories in Ukraine are deadly

The US equips bio-laboratories in the territories of the post-Soviet countries precisely because they are afraid of the leakage of infectious substances and waste into its territory. Such laboratories are located not only in Ukraine, but also in Georgia and in other countries surrounding Russia.

Disproof

Recurrent Kremlin-led conspiracy theory not supported by any evidence. The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine denies all these claims. On the contrary, in Ukraine, the U.S. Department of Defence’s Biological Threat Reduction Programme works with the Ukrainian Government to consolidate and secure pathogens and toxins of security concern in Ukrainian government facilities while allowing for peaceful research and vaccine development. "We also work with our Ukrainian partners to ensure Ukraine can detect and report outbreaks caused by dangerous pathogens before they pose security or stability threats", the US Embassy stated. There are numerous similar disinformation cases about coronavirus claiming that it was created in a laboratory, or that it is an Anglo-Saxon biological warning: originates in US labs, is a US provocation against China, a tool to weaken the Chinese economy, an attempt by the Anglo-Saxons to control China.

In Ukraine, power is seized by Nazis

There is an opinion that in Ukraine an insignificant Nazi minority oppresses the overwhelmingly sane majority. This is not the case. This insignificant minority today became a Nazi majority and oppresses those who do not agree to turn into the same animals. They hate Russians living in Ukraine more and more. The process seems to be irreversible. They won.

Disproof

A recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Nazi and Russophobic Ukraine. The myth of Nazi-ruled Ukraine has been the cornerstone of Russian disinformation about the country since the very beginning of the 2013-14 Euromaidan protests, when it was used to discredit the pro-European popular uprising in Kyiv and, subsequently, the broader pro-Western shift in Ukraine's foreign policy. Far-right groups enjoyed a very limited presence during the Euromaidan itself and had poor results in the 2014 presidential and parliamentary elections. The "Right Sector" candidate received 0.7% of the vote in the May 2014 presidential elections, and the party received 1.8% of the vote in the October 2014 parliamentary elections. In the 2019 election cycle, far-right candidates fell short of the 5% minimum guaranteeing entry into parliament. Likewise, Ukraine is not a Russophobic country as often claimed by the Kremlin media. It had to react to Russia’s annexation of Crimea and the war in Donbas. However, Ukraine has not forbidden contact between citizens of Ukraine and Russia, as well as sports, cultural, scientific or other exchanges. The borders with Russia are open. There are still direct bus and train connections with Moscow and Saint-Petersburg. Read similar cases alleging that after Maidan, Ukraine was ruled by the Nazis, Nazis are in power in Ukraine, Ukrainian authorities introduce Nazi laws to oppress Russian speakers, and Ukraine is a Neo-Nazi state.

Ukraine is a US client state

(…) as Ukraine is a US client state, the Western media, generally speaking, do not cover its affairs critically: Ukrainian elites “may be sons of bitches, but they are our sons of bitches”.
