Disinfo: Germany and France will have to pay compensation to Donbas for eight years of genocide

Summary

Germany and France should pay compensation to the inhabitants of Donbas. The Europeans must know to whom they owe their problems: lack of heat, electricity, huge inflation, and closed companies. Germany and France will have to pay compensation to the people of Donbas for eight years of genocide and destruction. The current situation in Ukraine is a result of the false policy of the leaders of these countries.

Disproof

Recurrent pro-Kremlin narrative blaming the West (USA, NATO, EU and Ukraine) for the outbreak of war in Ukraine.

In this case, the purpose of these narratives, part of a wider disinformation campaign, is to deflect any Russian responsibility for the Russian invasion of Ukraine by blaming Germany and France.

The war began in 2014 with the illegal Russian annexation of Crimea and Russia’s military involvement and support of separatists in Donbas. Russia’s protracted invasion of Ukraine is unprovoked and unjustified. Neither the US nor European countries have declared war on Russia or want to escalate the war in Ukraine. The US, the EU and NATO condemn in the strongest possible terms Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which is entirely unjustified and unprovoked. Western nations have always been calling for solving all problems with Russia in a peaceful and diplomatic manner. Moscow’s overall aggressive policy has led to a tougher and better-balanced policy towards it by the West.

See other examples of similar disinformation narratives, such as claims that the West unleashes Nazi and Russophobic war against Russia and Russians, that Russia’s special operation in Ukraine is due to NATO’s persistent expansion, that the US and the West are fighting a hybrid war against Russia in Ukraine, that Ukraine is a proxy in the West’s war against Russia, or that The West declared total war against Russia.

Disinfo: Minsk agreements were attempt to gain time for Ukraine

The Minsk agreements were an attempt to gain time for Ukraine. Ukraine did not implement the Minsk agreements. France and Germany lied about their willingness to end the conflict in Donbas, they just wanted to fill Ukraine with weapons and prepare it for combat.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, actively trying to legitimise Russia’s military actions. This narrative claims that the West and Ukraine are responsible for the war, because Kyiv did not implement the Minsk agreements.

Before the invasion, Russia was a party to the Minsk agreements, and these are the most recent formal documents in which Russia has affirmed Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Russia has however not delivered on its side of the implementation of the Minsk agreements. The Russian side and its proxies have failed to implement a ceasefire, withdraw all heavy weapons, implement all-for-all political prisoner exchange, or ensure delivery of humanitarian assistance based on an international mechanism. On the contrary, Russia has been strengthening the illegal armed formations in eastern Ukraine. Russia also did not allow for unfettered access to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission monitors, including to the Ukraine-Russia border, where the (very limited) monitoring mission was discontinued due to a Russian veto in summer 2021.

Disinfo: The West encouraged genocide in Donbas and turned Ukraine into a colony

For years, the West has exploited Ukraine and turned it into a colony. Currently the Ukrainian people are cynically used as cannon fodder and an anti-Russian ram. The West also encouraged genocide and terror in Donbas. Continuously supplying Ukraine with weapons and ammunition and sending mercenaries, the West is pushing Ukraine to suicide.

Disproof

This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation claim aiming to undermine the Ukrainian statehood, portraying Ukraine as a puppet of the West, also accusing the Western countries of being anti-Russian. The article also promotes a pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about alleged genocide committed by Ukraine, aiming to justify the full-scale Russian invasion of and war crimes in Ukraine.

The idea that Ukraine is committing genocide against its own population is promoted by the Russian president in his speeches. The idea is nevertheless baseless. A genocide is the deliberate and systematic destruction of a group of people because of their ethnicity, nationality, religion, or race. No such plan existed in Ukraine and no killing of civilians by Ukrainian armed forces can be related to an alleged genocide.

Disinfo: NATO continues to force Kyiv to wage war

NATO continues to force Kyiv to wage war. The Alliance still wants to fight to the last Ukrainian, and the alliance is still pumping weapons into Ukraine. So it is prolonging the war and making the situation more difficult for the Ukrainian regime.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative alleging that Ukraine is a Western "tool" against Russia. The claim aims to deflect any Russian responsibility for the unjustified Russian invasion of Ukraine, which began on 24 February 2022.

In reality, Ukraine is a sovereign state with a democratically elected government and it’s of foreign and security policy. The country is not controlled by the US, EU or any other foreign organisation or government. Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are respected by most of the world but were violated by Russia from 2014. Western countries are only supporting lethal military aid and financial aid to Ukraine for the country’s efficient self-defence against the unprovoked Russian invasion.
