Disinfo: Germany and Japan are occupied by the US

Summary

When Germany and Japan became serious competing powers for the French and British economies, France and the UK provoked WWII. They planned to destroy the USSR with the hands of Germany and Japan and to subordinate their economies. However, the US won the war and made Germany and Japan its colonies. They remain occupied by the US until now.

Disproof

This message is part of the Kremlin's policy of historical revisionism and promotes a recurring propaganda narrative about lost sovereignty/external control. Germany and Japan, being allies of the US, are sovereign countries and make sovereign decisions about their own security and policies.

False interpretations of the interwar history attempt to erode the disastrous historical consequences of the Soviet-Nazi Non-Aggression Pact. On August 23, 1939, Nazi Germany and the USSR signed the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact with a Secret Supplementary Protocol, which divided Eastern European countries between these two totalitarian powers. On September 1, 1939, Nazi Germany attacked Poland while the Soviet Union's attack on Poland started on September 17. In this way, Nazi Germany and the USSR started the implementation of the Secret Supplementary Protocol to the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact.

See earlier disinformation cases alleging that Germany is semi-occupied by the US, that Poland is the US's "Trojan horse" and is a fully controlled country, that Poland and Czechia are the US's puppets, and that Latvia is also the US's vassal state.

Disinfo: NATO intends to create a tense zone in the Black Sea region to destabilise Russia

NATO will surround the Black Sea Fleet with military bases. The Alliance intends to create a tense zone in the region to destabilise the Russian Federation. NATO forces intend to build military bases in Ukraine to encircle the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about NATO encircling Russia and about Ukraine as NATO's puppet. There is no evidence that Ukraine will be used by any NATO country as a ground against Russia.

So far, no country has expressed its willingness to deploy a military base in Ukraine. Speculations over this started after joint Ukraine-UK military exercises in 2020. At the moment, Ukraine and the UK are planning to cooperate in the development of the Ukrainian sea fleet. The UK also expressed its willingness to help in the modernisation of Ukrainian naval infrastructure. Also, the US Armed Forces provide assistance in improving naval infrastructure in Mykolaiv oblast.

Disinfo: The water blockade of Crimea is an attempt at genocide from Ukraine

The water blockade of Crimea is a crime that borders on the most atrocious crimes against humanity. About two million people were deprived of water. This is an attempt at genocide. The state built here, in Ukraine, on the Bandera ideology, carried out an attempt of the genocide of the Crimeans.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Ukraine and Crimea.

Crimea and Sevastopol were illegally annexed by Russia in 2014. Under the Geneva Convention, an occupying state bears full responsibility for all that happens on occupied territory and for all requirements, such as water.

Disinfo: Poland is a key player promoting the power change in Belarus

Polish “engine” of the Belarusian protests.

The fact that Poland is pursuing an anti-Russian line has not been a secret for many years. Poland is a key player promoting the change of power in Belarus.

The outgoing year has shown that Russia is having difficulties with countries such as Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic. This trio played a significant role in the events in Belarus and Moldova, which have obviously anti-Russian overtones. All these three states are usually underestimated in our country but in vain. And underestimating those can cause significant damage to Russia.

Disproof

This message is a part of the Kremlin narratives about Russophobic and Anti-Russian Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic. It also contains the familiar pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Western attempts to organise a colour revolution in Belarus. Finally, it accuses Poland of intervening in the domestic affairs of Belarus, which is a severe violation of the principles of diplomacy and international relations.

The protests in Belarus erupted to contest the results of the presidential election in Belarus on the 9th of August, which are considered fraudulent by a large part of Belarusian society. The European Union has also stated that the elections were neither free nor fair.
