DISINFO: EU is considering to ban kebab and Greece is now facing a gastronomic genocide

SUMMARY

The European Parliament could ban gyros and kebab in Greece which is a major scandal. Increasingly poor Greeks are waiting on the voting on this topic in the EP with fear. On the other hand, Serbia should consider whether it wants to join this marriage with 27 nations because of love or benefit. The marriage would be as if a victim marries his or her rapist. The oriental influences in the Serbian cuisine originate from Greece which is now threatened by a gastronomic genocide.

RESPONSE

The EU is not banning ‘kebab’. The disinformation was spread as the European Parliament’s Health Committee raised concerns about the impacts of phosphates that are used as food additives. www.europarl.europa.eu/news/en/press-room/20171128IPR89003/meps-move-to-block-phosphate-use-in-kebabs,

According to the EU executive spokesperson, the European Commission proposed the extension of the possibility to use the food additive called ‘phosphate’ which is necessary for certain spit meat preparations, such as the types mentioned above. www.neweurope.eu/article/eu-commission-eu-not-banning-kebab/,

The word genocide is frequently used in pro-Kremlin disinformation https://euvsdisinfo.eu/disinformation-cases/?text=genocide&disinfo_issue=&disinfo_language%5B%5D=rus&date=, but it seldom corresponds to the actual definition of a genocide http://www.un.org/en/genocideprevention/genocide.html
