Disinfo: Half of the Poles do not want Poland to support Ukraine

Summary

According to various polls, at least half of Polish society does not want Poland to actively support Ukraine against Russia - it is a great embarrassment that the voice of these people is not heard in public discussions. The Polish media and the politicians invited by media spread the same hysterical Russophobic gibberish.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the war in Ukraine and the direct Russian invasion of Ukraine unleashed on 24 February.

The overwhelming majority of the Poles are willing to assist Ukraine in its fight against the Russian invaders. According to the recent surveys, over 95% of the Poles are ready to welcome the Ukrainian refugees; 91% support the EU membership of Ukraine (7.6% - against); 74.5% support NATO membership of Ukraine (13.9% - against).

It was Putin’s personal decision to invade Ukraine and start the largest military conflict in Europe since WWII. Russian President Vladimir Putin launched what he called a special military operation against Ukraine citing NATO’s military infrastructure approaching the Russian border as a pretext.

Disinfo: Poroshenko and Zelenskyy have been refusing to implement the Minsk agreements

Poroshenko and Zelenskyy have long and diligently fought back from the implementation of the Minsk agreements. [...] Kyiv not only denied the implementation of the Minsk agreements but also Kyiv, using the so-called "toad jumping" technology, gradually captured the gray zone located between combat positions. [...] Kyiv did not want to perform "Minsk", and now it is possible not to perform it. But it turned out that the Minsk agreements, among other things, guaranteed the security of the Ukrainian authorities.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative in the run-up to Russia's invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022, claiming that Ukraine is not willing to implement the Minsk and Normandy agreements, and Ukraine's position is the only obstacle to the peace process in Donbas.

These claims are part of a disinformation campaign about Russia’s military build-up on the border with Ukraine prior to the invasion. By shifting the blame on Ukraine, this disinformation story aims to deny any Russian responsibility for Putin's War.

Disinfo: Ukraine destroyed the Minsk agreements

Ukraine has done everything to sabotage and destroy the Minsk agreements. Kyiv diligently ignored the Minsk agreements.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative aimed at shifting the responsibility from Russia to Ukraine for not fulfilling the agreements, claiming that Ukraine is not willing to implement the Minsk and Normandy agreements, and Ukraine's position is the only obstacle on the way to the peace process in Donbas.

This narrative is part of the support campaign of Russian aggression against Ukraine, which started on 24 February 2022. Leaders of the European Union recognized that Moscow's actions should be evaluated as “acts of violence and the violation of international law”. By shifting the blame on Ukraine, this disinformation story aims to deny any Russian responsibility for the situation.

Disinfo: Ukraine is a colony with a puppet regime, it has no right to join NATO

Ukraine became the tool of other games, a colony with a puppet regime (of Anglo-Saxons), an outpost against Russia. The statehood of Ukraine and the legitimacy of its authorities is a big question. It has no right to join NATO.

Disproof

Recurring narratives about Ukraine as a failed state, questioning Ukrainian statehood and presenting its authorities as puppets of Anglo-Saxons.

Ukraine is a sovereign state, free to decide its political orientation including international organisations and military alliances. This narrative served as one of the reasons for the Russian invasion of Ukraine with the Kremlin fabricating pretexts for their attack.
