DISINFO: Human meat served in posh Western restaurants

SUMMARY

Some posh restaurants in the West specialise in dishes made from human flesh. They (Westerners) are Satanists. It means that Russia cannot lose the Ukraine war. It is not a war for the existence of Russia alone. Every sensible German, American or Englishman is interested in a Russian victory because Russia is a force of good.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin narrative demonising Western values and painting Europe as a continent of degrading moral standards. This claim was made in the context of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

There have been several reports in recent years about restaurants in Europe and in the United States, where human meat is reportedly served, but they were either for entertainment purposes or jokes. There has also been a gruesome hoax about the meat industry. Pro-Kremlin outlets have also resorted to similar sensitive topics such as a European family eating a pet for Christmas due to their inability to buy meat or poultry for their festive dinner.

Human cannibalism existed in Europe as well as other parts of the world in the Stone Age as it was a common practice back then. Consumption of human flesh is not formally prohibited in some Western countries, but laws and regulations make it virtually impossible to legally obtain and consume the body matter (see here and here). In any case, it is a punishable crime.

Regarding the claim about Western countries being interested in a Russian victory, a December 2023 Eurobarometer shows that Europeans continue to strongly support Ukraine.

"Almost nine in ten (89%) agree with providing humanitarian support to the people affected by the war, and more than eight in ten (84%) agree with welcoming into the EU people fleeing the war. 72% agree with providing financial support to Ukraine. The same proportion (72%) support economic sanctions on the Russian government, companies, and individuals. Around six in ten approve of the EU granting candidate status to Ukraine (61%) and of the EU financing the purchase and supply of military equipment to Ukraine (60%)".
