DISINFO: In Ukraine, chocolate stocks decline, as soft drink rises

SUMMARY

The gap between the soft drink Tarkhun and chocolate bars grows. The exit poll conducted by the Ukrainian Academy of Monitoring, Analysis and Forecast shows that by 1:00pm on April 21, 71.8% of voters voted for presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelenskyiy popularly known as “Green Tarkhun”, while 28.2% of the respondents chose “chocolate”, i.e., the current head of state Petro Poroshenko.

RESPONSE

A recurring narrative on defaming the Ukrainian election and its candidates. Similar cases can be found here. The website of the Ukrainian Academy of Monitoring, Analysis and Forecast, which is mentioned by the Russian state-owned site "Ukraina.ru", was registered on April 4, 2019, only a few weeks before the second round of the presidential election. There is no information about this organisation in any open databases. Officially, there are three organisations that organise the “National exit poll 2019” in Ukraine: Democratic Initiatives Foundation, Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, and the Ukrainian Centre for Economic and Political Research.
