Disinfo: Kyiv has no intention of exchanging prisoners with Kremlin

Kyiv is not ready for negotiations with the Kremlin on prisoner exchange.

Ukraine’s Presidential Humanitarian Envoy at the Minsk peace talks regarding the war in Donbas MP Iryna Herashchenko says Ukraine has contacted Russia regarding the exchange of prisoners countless time. According to StopFake, Herashchenko said that she has personally sent letters to Russian representatives regarding Russian prisoners in Ukraine three times. She mentions that she has raised the issue at Minsk meetings many times and notes that Russian consuls have never visited detained Russians and they continue to propagate the lie that Russian military personnel, captured or not, are simply not in Ukraine.

The Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine is a group of representatives from Ukraine, the Russian Federation, and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe. On August 23 it informed that the Humanitarian Working group had considered issues related to the exchange of detainees. https://www.osce.org/chairmanship/391322

And in June, presidents of Ukraine and Russia raised the issue during a telephone conversation. https://www.president.gov.ua/en/news/prezident-ukrayini-proviv-telefonnu-rozmovu-z-prezidentom-ro-48282

Earlier, pro-Kremlin disinformation has claimed that both the 2017 attack in Khan Sheikhoun and 2018 in Douma were faked. UN-OPCW Joint Investigative Mechanism found Syria’s Government responsible for last year’s attack in Khan Shaykhun. On April 10 2018 Russia vetoed a U.S.-drafted U.N. Security Council resolution that would have created a new inquiry to ascertain responsibility for chemical weapons attacks in Syria.

Promising to Make a ‘Good Juicy Chop’ of Opposition Leader is No Physical Threat

The words of Viktor Zolotov (Director of the National Guard, “Rossgvardiya”) addressed to Alexei Navalny are no physical threat.

Zolotov challenged Navalny (by that time imprisoned) to a duel, demanding satisfaction and promising to make a “good juicy chop” of him in a matter of minutes. “Mr. Navalny, I promise you, before I step over you and wipe my feet on you, I will stage a show for the entire Rosgvardiya staff, and I assure you, after that you will be ashamed to go outside. And I know how to keep my word,” Zolotov said.

Largest Opposition Party in Macedonia is Boycotting Name Referendum

Twenty eight political movements and organizations, including the largest opposition party, VMRO-DPMNE, signed a memorandum on cooperation and creating a campaign headquarters for boycotting the referendum.

While 30 Macedonia political parties, groups and individuals signed such a memorandum, VMRO-DPMNE did not.

“The official stance of VMRO-DPMNE regarding the referendum is – we have no position. It is not our job to tell the people if and how they should vote,” Mickoski said during a recent rally.
