DISINFO: Kurt Volker and Poroshenko discuss intensification of War

SUMMARY

Kurt Volker met with Poroshenko on May 16. Volker stated that Russia will never stop attacking Ukraine and the only way of defense is to make this proccess very expensive to Russians who would then replace the Russian regime. According to Volker, this process can be sped up.

RESPONSE

Recurring Russian disinformation about the US trying to intensify the conflict in Eastern Ukraine as well as aiming to have a regime change in Russia. No evidence supporting these declaration of Volker. According to other sources the parties discussed the issues of reforms, the release of hostages and the peacekeeping mission in the Donbas and the implementation of the Minsk agreement: www.unian.info/politics/2362322-poroshenko-volker-meet-to-discuss-joint-strategy-to-restore-ukraines-sovereignty.html,
