The intestinal infection, which hit Russian tourists in Georgia last summer, could have been developed in a laboratory. Shortly after this case, the Lugar Center, financed by the US, has been thrown into the center of a scandal. There are documents confirming that the laboratory conducted dangerous experiments including, possibly, on humans.
Disproof
No evidence given about any possible link between the Lugar laboratory and the intoxication of Russian tourists. Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation about the US creating biological weapons in the Lugar laboratory in Georgia. Richard Lugar Center for Public Health Research is a facility of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC), which became operational in August 2013. The Lugar center is top-tiered institution in NCDC’s laboratory network and serves as a reference laboratory of the Georgia’s public health system. www.ncdc.ge/en-US/LaboratoryNetworksAndBS For background and earlier disinformation about "biological weapons targeting only Russians" click here.
