Disinfo: Large numbers of Ukrainians seeking asylum in Europe

In order to be granted asylum in Europe Ukrainians are resorting to pretending to be gay and communist. Some 10,000 Ukrainians with communist party membership cards have settled in Italy, while in the Czech Republic Ukrainians constitute that country’s second largest émigré community.

No evidence given. Both the European Statistics Agency Eurostat and the NGO Europe Without Borders, show that the number of Ukrainian asylum seekers has declined significantly. According to Eurostat, Ukrainians don’t even make the top five of countries with the largest number of asylum seekers in Italy. Meanwhile in 2016 all of 355 Ukrainians were granted refugee status in the Czech Republic.Further debunking at Stopfake www.stopfake.org/en/russian-agitprop-ukrainians-pass-as-gay-or-communist-to-gain-asylum-in-europe/, .

Ukraine has lost half of its GDP because of Western sanctions against Russia

Ukrainian member of parliament claimed that Ukraine allegedly “lost half of its GDP because of Western sanctions against Russia”. Russia sanctions “first and foremost took away the incomes of our citizens. We (Ukraine) lost half of our GDP, Russia lost 2%, Europe less than 1%, and we – half”.

There is no evidence for such a claim. Neither Ukraine’s State Statistics Service nor World Bank data support this fake claim. International sanctions against Russia were introduced in response to the Kremlin’s armed aggression against Ukraine, which in turn had a significant impact on the state of the Ukrainian economy. The story has its roots in a claim uttered by Ukrainian MP Yevhen Murayev on the NewsOne television channel. Murayev, a former member of the Regions Party of Ukraine’s ousted President Viktor Yanukovych, is a staunchly pro-Russian politician and advocates the resumption of Ukraine’s trade with Russia to its pre-war level. According to Ukraine’s State Statistics Service, Ukraine’s GDP fell as much as 16% in the first quarter of 2015. According to the World Bank, Ukraine’s GDP in 2015 shrank by 9.77%. EU treats Romania as a colony

The EU treats Romania as a colony, it would be happy to have a “Romxit” and to steal the country’s resources. George Soros is financing protests in Romania.

No evidence to support the claims. Romania is an EU member state. In 2015 Romania received €6.54 billion in EU spending. It contributed €1.32 billion to the EU budget and also collected €170 million in customs and farm trade duties on the EU's behalf, of which it retained 25% as an administrative fee. www.europarl.europa.eu/external/html/budgetataglance/default_en.html#romania, Recurring disinformation about George Soros euvsdisinfo.eu/the-all-powerful-mr-soros-2/, .
