Donbas elections: Western countries today are dictatorships, in Donbas there is pure democracy

The Western countries showed that they are enemies of democracy when they protested against the elections in the DNR and LNR. The Western countries today are dictatorships. A dictatorship of liberalism, military bloc of NATO and that is our main threat today. There is pure democracy here in Donbas.

///

The Donbas elections are a lesson of democracy for all of Europe. // The West needs to learn from DNR how to organise elections

///

The Minsk agreements contribute to holding open and transparent elections that DNR and LNR want to organise.

///

Donbas elections comply with all the international standards.

Disproof

The elections were not recognised by the international community.  The elections were held in Donbas, Ukraine, on 11 November by Russian-backed separatists. The elections were illegal under Ukrainian law, illegitimate and in violation of the Minsk Agreements.

The EU stated that "the announcement that so-called "elections" will be held in the so-called "Luhansk People's Republic" and "Donetsk People's Republic" on 11 November 2018 runs contrary to the spirit and letter of the Minsk agreements, which have specific provisions regarding the organisation of local elections in that region."

Ukraine is governed by a regime that seized power in a bloody coup

Ukraine is governed by a regime that seized power in a bloody coup. Euromaidan would have not happened if people knew what will they will have to face: that the country will disintegrate, economy will collapse, civil war will break out, corruption will flourish…

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation about Ukraine's statehood and Ukrainian nation. https://euvsdisinfo.eu/disinformation-cases/?text=&disinfo_issue=&disinfo_keywords%5B0%5D=77158&date=&offset=10

There was no coup in Ukraine in 2014. The demonstrations which began in Kyiv in November 2013 – called "Maidan", or "Euromaidan" – were not provoked from outside but were a result of the Ukrainian people's frustration with former President Yanukovych's last minute U-turn when, after seven years of negotiation, he refused to sign the EU–Ukraine Association Agreement and halted progress towards Ukraine's closer relationship with the EU as a result of Russian pressure. The protesters' demands included constitutional reform, a stronger role for parliament, formation of a government of national unity, an end to corruption, early presidential elections and an end to violence http://bit.ly/2ftv6iT. The European Union does not recognise the illegal annexation of Crimea and continues to condemn this violation of international law, and that Russia’s illegal actions remain a direct challenge to international security, with grave implications for the international legal order that protects the unity and sovereignty of all States.

In 1612 the word “Ukraine” was not heard anywhere

“Ukrainians in the Polish Army in 1612 allegedly seized Moscow (…) Of course it was a big government, a commonwealth, with Poles and Lithuanians, there could have been people who weren’t Poles, and those who would later call themselves Ukrainians, but in 1612 the word ‘Ukraine’ was not heard anywhere”, said Vladimir Zhirinovsky, head of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia.

Disproof

No evidence given. Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Ukrainian statehood.

In fact, according to the Encyclopedia of Ukraine, which is produced by the Canadian Institute for Ukrainian studies in the Universities of Alberta and Toronto, "the modern name 'Ukraintsi' (Ukrainians) is derived from 'Ukraina' (Ukraine), a name first documented in the Kyiv Chronicle under the year 1187". The term "Ukrainiany" appears in the chronicle under the year 1268.
