Disinfo: Maidan coup took place because former president’s administration wanted to close Pentagon labs in Ukraine

Summary

Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov wrote on Facebook that the administration had no knowledge on what the biological laboratories opened by the Pentagon on Ukrainian soil were doing because it was classified. The regime was overthrown in Ukraine in 2014 because it wanted to shut down the Pentagon’s laboratories.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about the 2013-14 Ukrainian revolution (Euromaidan) and secret biological laboratories surrounding Russia.

The demonstrations which began in Kyiv in November 2013 – called "Maidan", or "Euromaidan" – were a result of the Ukrainian people's frustration with former President Yanukovych's last-minute U-turn when, after seven years of negotiation, he refused to sign the EU–Ukraine Association Agreement and halted progress towards Ukraine's closer relationship with the EU as a result of Russian pressure.

There are no Pentagon laboratories in Ukraine. The Ukrainian government is a member of the U.S. Department of Defence’s Biological Threat Reduction Programme that works on a number of programmes to consolidate and secure pathogens and toxins of security concern in Ukrainian government facilities while allowing for peaceful research and vaccine development.

"We also work with our Ukrainian partners to ensure Ukraine can detect and report outbreaks caused by dangerous pathogens before they pose security or stability threats", the U.S. Embassy stated.

Under the agreement signed by Ukraine's Health Ministry and the US Department of Defense in 2005, numerous Ukrainian laboratories were modernised. The laboratories work transparently.

Russophobia and Nazis are the main reasons for the conflict in Donbas

The main reasons for the conflict in Ukraine was that the Eastern regions rejected Russophobia, Nazi glorification and the ideology of Nazism.

The tragedy of Donbas is that Russia did not come to the aid of local residents when the Ukrainian authorities sent tanks and artillery with aviation against unarmed civilians. […] in the cities of Donbas, women and their husbands met the heavy equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with their bare hands.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the war in Ukraine, aiming to portray the conflict as Ukraine's civil war.

The war in Eastern Ukraine is not a civil conflict, but a well-documented act of ongoing aggression by Russian armed forces, since February 2014.

Russia has no role in the dispute over Crimean artifacts

Moscow has no role in the dispute between Ukraine and the Crimea over the ownership of artifacts, which consist of pure gold belonging to an ancient civilization, exhibited at the Allard Pierson Museum In Amsterdam in 2014.

The Russian Federation is not a party to the dispute over the artifacts that were displayed under the title “Crimea – Gold and the secrets of the Black Sea”. These procedures began among the four museums of Crimea on the one hand, and the Allard Pierson Museum on the other, on the basis of bilateral contracts.

The four Crimean museums had stated in court that the Dutch side had failed to return the artifacts to their owners in time after the exhibition ended in 2014, and had asked the museum administration to do so as soon as possible.

Disproof

The legal dispute originated as a direct result of Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea.

The collection subject to the dispute includes ancient Jewellery, gems, helmets and scabbards from four museums in Crimea, and was sent on loan to a museum in the Dutch capital of Amsterdam in 2014 — around the same time Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine.

The US will start chipping all American citizens in October 2020

In October 2020, the United States will introduce chips in all American citizens. This will happen with the delivery of the coronavirus vaccine. The Department of Defense and the Ministry of Health have signed with ApiJect a contract worth 138 million dollars through which the company in the medical industry will provide syringes (for the Covid-19 vaccine) equipped with an RFID tracking microchip!

Disproof

Conspiracy theory, with no evidence provided to support the claim. This text shares the recurrent pro-Kremlin narrative about a Shadow Government of all-powerful groups ruling the world with the new element of Covid-19 as part of the ongoing disinformation campaign on the coronavirus.

Indeed, according to a May 12 statement from the US Department of Defense, this institution and the US Department of Health and Human Services signed a $138 million contract with the international aseptic syringe company ApiJect Systems America. The partnership will allow the necessary volume of syringes to vaccinate a larger number of people to be available when the vaccine against COVID-19 is ready. The syringes will not have chips, but unique identification codes. In fact, the technology based on RFID radio frequency identification will allow real-time, remote tracking of vaccinations in the US at the national level, but does not involve implanting a chip or tracking people. The information will be collected to keep track of the number of people vaccinated, by region, which will allow health authorities to monitor the situation.
