Disinfo: Merkel funds US protesters

When police killed George Floyd, riots erupted in many cities of the US and Western Europe. Black people came out under the slogan “Black Lives Matter”. However, white activists from left-wing radical groups, such as Antifa, quickly took to the street. Who was among those inspiring them from abroad?

Angela Merkel was, not personally, but rather the regime that brought her to power 15 years ago. This is confirmed by the Bundestag deputy of the opposition party, Alternative for Germany, Petr Bystron, in his statement, in which he says: The budget of Angela Merkel’s office for 2020 is 3.19 billion euros. Almost half of this amount (1.82 billion euros) is allocated to the needs of the Department of Culture and the Media.

Huge amounts from the “propaganda budget of the German Chancellor” are allocated to finance various “activists”. In 2019, the Merkel government allocated 9 million euros to finance these organisations. Considering that Antifa is positioning itself as a “global leftist international” and has activists in all Western countries, it is obvious that these human and material resources could be used for protests in the USA, which, by the way, take place exactly under the same slogans (only here the “main fascists” are not AfD, but Trump, activists of the Republican Party and police).

Now, you understand why the US Attorney General’s office spoke about the “foreign roots of the riots” and who specifically could be meant here.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the racial justice protests in the US.

There is no evidence to suggest that the protests in the US broke out through “top-down mobilisation", let alone "foreign intervention".

The widespread protests against racial injustice and police brutality broke out in the US after the death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis on the 25th of May, 2020. The protests followed several high-profile incidents involving African Americans and the police, invoking debates about racism in the US.

Ukraine will soon be in the position of the USSR before the collapse

In autumn, local elections will be held in Ukraine, after which the country may be in the position of the USSR before the collapse. In Ukraine, large industrial enterprises that were the centres of several regions, have been destroyed. At the same time, many political parties have emerged fighting for power and resources. As a result, the regions have fewer and fewer reasons to interact with each other and are dissatisfied with Kyiv.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about Ukraine's disintegration and imminent collapse. There is no evidence that Ukrainian regions want to split.

Ukraine is a sovereign state whose borders are guaranteed by international agreements and were de facto violated by Russia.

The US made an order for another cultural-historical split between Ukraine and Russia

The US Department of State is ready to pay $150,000 dollars to the Ukrainian organisation which will be creating material with clear Russophobic content. This is evidenced by the tender, which was published by the press service of the US Embassy in Ukraine. According to the document, Washington is ready to pay a relatively large amount of money for the creation of propaganda films. At the same time, the US Embassy in Kyiv does not hide that the goal of the project is the formation of anti-Russian sentiments. This is also evidenced by the fact that the Russian Federation is called an “enemy” state in the text.

A recurring pro-Kremlin narrative about Western Russophobia.

The 'Notice of Funding Opportunity' by the US Department of State and the US Embassy in Kyiv does not contain Russophobic messages.

Trump administration has registered an appeal for the recognition of the DPR and LPR

The administration of the US president Donald Trump registered an appeal for recognition of the Donbas republics.

Pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative attempting to show that different countries are ready to recognise Donbas as a separate part of Ukraine. Such narratives also repeat the lie that Russia is “not a part of the conflict” in Ukraine, and that it is an "internal conflict".

In fact, anyone can register a similar appeal with the White House through a form on the official site. However, receiving such a letter does not mean that the White House agrees with the information that will be in the letter.
