Disinfo: Moldova in anticipation of the "Maidan"

Summary

Moldova in anticipation of the “Maidan”. A group of specialists on the organisation of “colour revolutions” was sent to Moldova from the West. Now, a week before the next presidential elections in Moldova, the possibility of “Maidan” is also widely discussed both inside the country and abroad. Moreover, this year, similar events in Belarus and Kyrgyzstan and the aggravation of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh give sufficient grounds to assume that the so-called arc of instability is deliberately created in the “southern underbelly” of the Russian Federation.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative alleging the West has an anti-Russian policy and Russia is the target of any international event. There is no evidence on the interference of any Western country in upcoming elections in Moldova. This is a recurring pro-Kremlin conspiracy narrative that the West is behind any civil protests and colour revolutions, in this case aiming at undermining Moldova's aspirations to join the EU. The statement about specialists on the "organisation of colour revolutions" is unfounded.

Disinfo: Ukrainian government lost independence, it must obey orders from Washington and Brussels

It’s time for Ukraine to understand that the country has been under external control. The Ukrainian government does not have an independent policy but must obey the “orders” from Washington and Brussels. Ukrainian officials have regular consultations with European and American partners on various political and economic issues.

Disproof

Conspiracy with no evidence given. Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Ukraine, which is often claimed to be under external control from the US, NATO, the EU, or IMF. Ukraine is an independent, sovereign state, it does not receive orders from any foreign government. The EU has stated, on many occasions, that Ukraine is a priority partner for the EU. It supports Ukraine in ensuring a stable, prosperous and democratic future for its citizens and is unwavering in its support for Ukraine’s independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty. The Association Agreement (AA), including its Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) signed in 2014, is the main tool for bringing Ukraine and the EU closer together, promoting deeper political ties, stronger economic links and respect for common values. The relations between the US and Ukraine are bilateral relations between two independent countries. The US recognised Ukraine as an independent state on 25 December 1991. Since then, Washington has been working closely with Ukraine, directing its assistance to support the democratic development of the country and helping Ukraine to withstand Russian aggression. U.S. policy has since been centred on realising and strengthening a stable, democratic, prosperous, and free Ukraine more closely integrated into Europe and Euro-Atlantic structures. See similar disinformation cases alleging that according to a US plan, Ukraine must become an agraran state with widespread poverty, that the West deprived Ukraine and Baltic states of their sovereignty, that US destroys Ukrainian identity, or that IMF destroys Ukrainian economy and brings Ukraine under external control.

Disinfo: The Belarusian protests are managed from Ukraine and NATO countries, Bernard-Henri Lévy is also involved

Among the Western countries, Lithuania and Poland carry out the most aggressive policies towards Belarus. They would hardly dare to take such a position without support of the UK and some US political circles. The collective West gave a carte blanche to Vilnius and Warsaw to interfere in Belarusian domestic affairs and use Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya as a puppet. If the Belarusian events were the consequences of domestic affairs only, Russian would not support the Belarusian authorities so openly. Russia made it very clear for everybody on the international arena that Western external pressure on Belarus to carry out a hostile takeover of Belarus along the Ukrainian scenario is not acceptable.

The Belarusian protests are managed by command centres located in Ukraine and NATO countries and fully controlled by foreign security bodies. Lithuania and Poland are just window dressing, covering the real participants of the big game against Russia. The enemy’s aim is to harm Belarusian security and economy as much as possible and to bring a loyalist government to power, or to create long-term instability in the closest country to Russia.

Bernard-Henri Lévy, who inspired the events in Yugoslavia, Libya, Syria and Ukraine, is now supervising Tsikhanouskaya’s team.

Disproof

This article promotes recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about Belarus protests as being organised and controlled from abroad and as the West's attempt to organise a colour revolution. It is also consistent with pro-Kremlin narratives about the West's aggressive anti-Russian intentions, its activities to disrupt Belarusian-Russian relations, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's 'puppet' status, and a Western takeover of Ukraine.

There is no evidence that the US, UK, Lithuania, Poland, or Ukraine are in anyway involved in the protests in Belarus. Large-scale protests began in Minsk on August 9 against the results of the presidential election, and then in other cities. People revolted against election fraud and police violence towards thousands of rally participants.

Disinfo: Ankara to declare territorial claims on Crimea

Ankara decided to join the so-called “Crimean platform” and conclude an alliance with Kyiv. (…) Turkey now intends to take Crimea under its sovereignty.

Disproof

This is a pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the occupation of Crimea.

During the official visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Turkey on October 16, the joint statement of the leaders of Ukraine and Turkey was issued. The statement, signed by the two leaders, declares that “the Republic of Turkey reaffirms its unconditional support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity within internationally recognised borders and welcomes the cooperation within the Crimean Platform initiated by Ukraine.”
