DISINFO: NATO and its vassals want to destabilise, Balkanise and annihilate Russia
SUMMARY
Moscow, despite the massive sanctions imposed by the EU and the West, reports its victory on the Ukrainian front. For this reason, NATO and its vassals want to destabilise, Balkanise and further annihilate it, so that it won’t be able to lead the change of the world towards a multipolar order.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the impact of Western sanctions on Russia as well as disinformation narrative claiming that Russia has won the war in Ukraine.
The claims that Russia has won the war attempts to depict support for Ukraine as a lost cause and portrays Western powers as being on the verge of abandoning Ukraine. The purpose of this psychological operation is likely to undermine popular support for Ukraine among western countries and second, to pressure the people in Ukraine.
The claims about Russia’s economic success also contradict factual evidence.
Assessing the true state of the Russian economy is challenging. For over a year, both the Russian Central Bank and Rosstat—the national statistical agency—ceased publishing several key economic indicators. Additionally, the data they do publish has become less detailed than in the past, lacking specifics in areas such as banking, production, trade, and consumption.
However, we can still deduce that the war and sanctions transformed the Russian economy in several ways as can be seen from this infographic from the Council of the EU published in October 2023. As the Council states:
"Economic indicators are showing that the restrictive measures taken in Europe and elsewhere against Russia have had an impact on the Russian economy".
It details how the Russian economy is shrinking, trade declining, Russia's revenues from fossil fuels are diminishing and over EUR 300 billion of Russian Central Bank reserves are blocked.
Following Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, NATO member countries revised their Strategic Concept. The North Atlantic Alliance has recognised Russia as “the most significant and direct threat” to security in Europe. However, the allied countries specifically wrote out paragraph 9, which emphasises that “NATO does not seek confrontation and poses no threat to the Russian Federation.”
The West, including the US, supports Ukraine with military and financial aid for the country’s efficient self-defence, in accordance with the UN Charter Article 51, to defend against Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.
Read a similar cases claiming that the US creates a NATO centre in Kazakhstan to provoke Russia , that Putin’s Russia stood firm despite Western sanctions, that Western media recognises Ukraine’s defeat and that US goal is not the defence of Ukraine, but the Balkanisation of Russia.
