DISINFO: NATO has taken a path of aggression in recent years

SUMMARY

In recent years NATO has taken a path of aggression. Above all, we should take care that NATO does not become a worldwide machine of aggression, a path it has taken in recent years.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative targeting NATO. NATO is a defensive alliance, whose purpose is to protect its member states. Its exercises and military deployments are not directed against Russia or any other country. NATO is regularly updating the military requirements for civilian infrastructure, at a time when there are increased challenges to security. See more similar disinfo cases alleging that NATO is preparing to attack Russia and that “Russian threat” is an invention of the West and NATO in order to expand eastwards.
