Disinfo: US and NATO actions are escalating tensions in Caucasus

Summary

The actions of US and its NATO allies are not contributing to security and stability of the region. Washington and Brussels are actively developing military cooperation with Georgia and trying to turn the country into the main instrument for opposing Russia. The Alliance is committed to extensive military activity in the region.

Recurring pro-Kremlin narrative on NATO belligerence towards Russia and on Russophobia. NATO seeks no confrontation with Russia. NATO is a defensive alliance. Its purpose is to protect the member states. NATO's exercises and military deployments in the Black Sea are not directed against Russia or any other country. NATO has reached out to Russia consistently, transparently and publicly over the past 29 years. NATO enlargement is not directed against Russia. Every sovereign nation has the right to choose its own security arrangements. This is a fundamental principle of European security, one that Russia has also subscribed to, and should respect. NATO enlargement has brought more stability and prosperity to Europe, including Russia. In 2014 at NATO Wales Summit the alliance agreed to offer Georgia a substantial package of assistance to strengthen Georgia's defence and interoperability capabilities with the Alliance. In August 2015, a NATO-Georgian Joint Training and Evaluation Centre was inaugurated in Krtsanisi to contribute to the training and interoperability of Georgian and Alliance personnel. The Training Centre is not directed against Russia but contributes to stability by making Georgia's armed forces more professional, and by reinforcing the democratic controls over them. Recurring pro-Kremlin narrative, portraying the White Helmets as a Western-backed terrorist proxy and, implicitly, denying the responsibility of the Assad regime for chemical attacks perpetrated during the Syrian civil war.

Read similar cases claiming that the White Helmets were involved in the production of videos of staged “chemical attacks” and that the White Helmets have close links to Al-Qaeda and falsify chemical attacks evidence.

Disinfo: Big Pharma spread false rumours about the coronavirus to forward their business interests

The coronavirus is heading the news these days, and of course – all fakes around it. The primary object is to cause panic. One can hear “exclusive stories”, such as: “according to the Ministry of Health, more than 112 persons have died in Siberia and the Far East“. More than 200 similar reports have been detected by the Fund for Defending National Values. One can hear such delusional stories as “FBI reports that more than 100.000 persons have died in China and almost 3 millions are infected.” Why would the FBI care? This organisation deals only with internal issues of the USA. Why not the NSA or CIA? And those US specialists from “China” do not act delicately: “Tens of thousands are dead and thousands corps are burned at waste stations“.

Behind this stand the giant pharmaceutical companies, attempting to forward their business interests.

England, the United States of America, and other imperial powers saw Hitler as the main adversary against the Soviet Union.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative distorting the events of the Second World War.

The UK and the United States were also against Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and chose to retaliate against the Third Reich. The UK declared war on the Nazi regime as a result of German refusal to remove troops from neutral Belgium. Prior to the German invasion, the United Kingdom had signed the Treaty of London (1839) which guaranteed British and French defence of Belgium sovereignty.
