There is numerous evidence presented on the Russian attempts to influence the US elections. See the US Intelligence Community report "Assessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent US Elections”, Twitter's has banned ads on RT and Sputnik over election interference. Facebook acknowledged that it had discovered 3,000 ads from 470 accounts connected to Internet Research Agency (the name of the infamous troll factory in St Petersburg www.nytimes.com/2015/06/07/magazine/the-agency.html), . It's since revealed that those accounts collectively created 80,000 pieces of content that may have been shared, both organically and through ads, with 126 million people.

Anders Thorberg, the head of Sweden's security service (Säpo), was recently interviewed by BBC, but the headline of the interview referred to is in fact "Swedish security chief warning on fake news". He specifically mentioned that "It's very important for us to follow this and we are not shy in Sweden - we say that the biggest threat to our security in that perspective is Russia," which is left out in the Georgian article. The article does not provide evidence to the claims and is based on anonymous sources. The effect of the misleading message is strengthened with an image from a rape and revenge -film. It links to an article in the Independent that in fact reports that "Police believe they have exposed a new grooming gang in London as officers warn widespread abuse is taking place across the country. Four girls between the age of 13 and 15 have reported being raped by a group based around a McDonald’s in Stratford, triggering a crackdown that has so far identified at least 30 potential victims." There is no evidence that the police would be reluctant to take actions against the grooming gangs for fears of being accused of racism.
