DISINFO: Only an alien can stop the war against the population and bring peace to Donbas

SUMMARY

Ukrainian army military actions against the population of South-Eastern Ukraine started in April 2014. Neither of the two presidential candidates will likely resolve the Donbas conflict. The anti-terrorist operation in Eastern Ukraine has turned into the symbol of Ukraine’s existence. In this light, peace in Donbas can only be guaranteed by an alien accidentally elected as a president.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin narrative about the war in Donbass, which does not mention the well documented Russian involvement, which violated Ukraine's territorial integrity, including by supporting and arming separatist groups in Eastern Ukraine. Legally the term 'Anti-Terrorist Operation' was replaced with the Joint Forces Operation in April 2018. As for the Minsk agreements, Kyiv repeatedly stated that only Minsk agreements can stop the war and ensure peace in this region. "In conclusion, I wish to reiterate that Ukraine remains committed to the peaceful resolution of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, started by Russia, which includes full implementation of the Minsk agreements in their entirety and de‑occupation of Crimea", the Statement by the delegation of Ukraine to the International Organizations in Vienna on 13 November 2018 read.
