Disinfo: Ukraine violates human rights by not providing water to Crimea

Ukraine made supplying of water to Crimea the subject of political blackmail. These are issues of survival and human rights. This is a vile act.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Ukraine and Crimea.

The North Crimean Canal is the only structure through which the Crimea received water from the Dnipro River. After Russia’s illegal annexation of the peninsula, the Ukrainian leadership stated that the main condition for the renewal of the agreements on the water supply to the Crimea is re-institution of legitimate authorities on the peninsula, which after the annexation of the Crimea are absent.

That is why Ukraine decided to close the locks of the North Crimean Canal and stated that it would resume water supply to the peninsula only after the complete de-occupation of Crimea.

Crimea was illegally annexed by Moscow based on an illegitimate referendum. On 27 March 2014, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution in which it stated that the referendum in Crimea was not valid and could not serve as a basis for any change in the status of the peninsula. On 17 December 2018, the UN General Assembly confirmed its non-recognition of the illegal annexation of Crimea.

Angela Merkel lied that migrants are mostly children and mothers

Angela Merkel has made the biggest mistake lying to the German people. She said Germany will manage to deal with the migration crisis. Merkel has lied to the German people that immigrants are mostly children and mothers. Instead, most of them are young adult males.

No evidence is given: Angela Merkel never said that the migrants are mostly mothers and children. A recurring pro-Kremlin narrative about Angela Merkel.

Germany, together with other EU-countries, is working intensively to combat the causes that lead to people fleeing their home countries and illegal migration. According to the German government, Germany stands by its legal and humanitarian obligations and helps refugees, who are on the brink of flight. Within the EU, Germany is committed to a crisis-proof common asylum system based on solidarity.

US special forces deployed with Al Qaeda in Idlib to carry out false flag attacks

US special forces are among Al Qaeda groups in Idlib with a lot of cash, promises of US passports and families relocated in the United States, according to intercepted communications and intelligence. These US forces will carry out ambushes and suicide attacks against Turkish advanced posts in Idlib, maybe using captured Syrian uniforms, to put an end to the truce negotiated by Erdogan in Moscow on March 5.

Conspiracy theory. No evidence is provided to back it.

This is part of a recurrent pro-Kremlin narrative accusing the US of backing terrorist groups in the Middle East. You can see other examples of disinformation cases on this topic in our database, such as claims that the US created the Islamic State and is now transporting it to Afghanistan, that NATO doesn’t counter terrorism, that the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi was a trick and the US may have evacuated him, that the International Criminal Court is supporting ISIS advance in Africa, or that the West’s fight against terrorism is actually an excuse to attack countries rich in resources.
